  • Dreams,

    Why do we have them?

    What do they mean?

Where do we go in our dreams?

What have your bizzar dreams been?

i have lots of flyin dreams and bein underwater dreams (good nes not bad ones!)

I use to, when I was about 3 years old, imagine myself tuning my self in, to my dreams, every night, before I went to sleep, a bit like a tv.

One night I thought, where shall I go, as I tuned in my imaginary dream box, (which was realy a peace of loose wall paper at the end of my bed).

I drempt of being in my nans Back Garden, in familiar and safe suroundings.

I then Sudenly noticed a Dinosaur there stairing at me, a “Triceratops”, I was rather frightend, so woke my self up.

I never tuned my imaginery dream machine in after that frightening experiance, (evan though Trieratops were suposedly vegetarian).

I had a dream once, in the past, where I met a freind, who i didnt know then.

We were able to travel through time and space!

It was funny though, cos I didnt meet him in real life for a few years after the Dream.

(havent experienced time travel in concouse reality yet though)

I had a Dream once about running through a hot dry sunny desert, to turn a nuclear power station off, cant rember if id made it though, or not, before I woke up!

Well i’m having lots of dreams about being in airopalne at the moment coz i’m off to Thailand in three weeks and i’m scared of flying! which makes me think they are conected in someway to how we feel.

But……….I do keep having this reacurring dream about horses going mad, like crazy and me being trapped with them! In a confined space What could that meen? I don’t have horses in any part of my life.

I had a dream once about being at a Party, at an old deserted quary, turned into a shaksperian like theatre, under the Wye Crown.

I was speaking to a freind casualy, having a barbeque, looking down at the Party, when I became aware of an enormase RUMBLE and surge of a kind of energy.

I looked up to the sky, to see that the sky was full of redish clouds and that electrity was surging from clowd to clowd.

I was so terified, and amazed at the emense energy of this dream, that I woke up! It was strange though, as I could still hear see and feel this energy for a few seconds, after I woke up!

The Rumbaling slowly faded away, as I regained my concouse thought.

Ay! Heres a wierd one, has anybody had a dream within a dream before? Like you see on the films I have it was so wierd I truly believed I had woken up! I meen I always thought films made these sort of things up but they are obviously based on things to some degree! It was soooooooo freaky! :hopeless:

As it happens, i kind of did last night! I was trying to go to sleap, but thought that I wasnt tierd enough, so imagined geting up, and going down stairs, I was then sudenly woken up by a noise in the room, to find that I dreamt that I got up, and hadnt realy!

I couldnt get back to sleap after !

    my favourite dream….

very very wierd…. me and my friend are jumping on stones over a pond of black oil… then I slip into it and drown… and in my dream I just remember closing my eyes thinking this the end in absolute darkness but it was very peaceful not scary…. then the next thing its like I’m watching my dream and my friend rob races the devil down my old street from when I was kid.. on chariots with no horses at the front… and hes racing to bring me back alive.

He wins and I come back to life and Im with my 2 mates both called Sam and we go off and buy some weed and have a spliff then I wake up. Absolute craziness but its my favourite and most memorable dream. :weee:

I had dreams this morning about fucknowswot. I really wish I could remember, but these things fade away too fast.

They say that dreams are your brain re-arranging memories, like a Defrag for the mind, but I think there is more. The mind has powers that the concious mind (that is the youngest and least developed part of the human brain) may not be able to access.

This is why I love drugs so much: it’s not the “getting muntered” but the alteration of the brain’s functions and chilled out context in which to experience it/them. Why did a tree sillouetted against a sunrise turn into a “breathing” painting of greyness with tiny couloured spots with edges “scrubby” (as paint runs out on brush strokes) that blended into pencil sketches of hands mainly holding pencils (branches extending into the sky)

    I can’t offer an explanation… It’s for my own journey and nobody else’s. :bounce_flraaa:crazy_dru:crazy_diz:love:

anyone ever seen a film called ‘The Waking life’ filmed by the same guy that made ‘A Scanner Darkly’ quality film all filmed using a technique called rotoscoping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotoscoping) where they draw animation over real film. Really interesting film, more like a lecture on dreams and what there about. If your interested in dreams i recomend you watch it Goes into false awakenings as well. Apperently some people can experience upto 100 before actually waking up. Some people even dream they’ve woken up, go to work to do a days work and then re-awake only to realise that they are still in bed and have got to get up and go to work again for real! Also has anyone ever experienced sleep paralysis? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis) can be scary, but a really good gateway into lucid dreaming if you can overcome the fear…

i just bought that film, and i think it is more trippy than skanner darkly as the art changes, more things moove in the background, things move on there face, he just keeps on waking up, and doing stuff and asking ppl loadsa philosophical questions, i love the boat car at the start whitch pplays around with the roads being seas

    had a wierd one

dreamt loads of people came in my bedroom partying, thought ‘this is a bit wierd’ an woke up . . .

Had a shower, cup of tea, got dressed, went off to work, opened my front door and bristol had turned into this animated scene of rolling meadows with huge butterflies everywhere! thought ‘huh?’

then woke up in my own bed again . . . rolled over and realised my bed was on the roof of my building, thought ‘what the fuck?’

Then woke up again! looked round my bedroom, everything normal then . . . the walls caved in an i’m in a dark club sat at a bar feelin a bit bloody wierded out by this point!

Ordered a drink and tried to get on top of the rising panic, tried backtracking to figure out what the hell was going on then realised I must be at a party somewhere and all this was some wierd trip, i must have had some acid or DMT or summat and i as just completely out of it, probably lying on a floor somewhere dribbling

in which case i must be with friends, just had to ride it out and bloody hell what a trip! which made me feel tonnes better

As soon as i realised this I woke up in my own bed again, didn’t really believe it, walked round my flat waiting for shit to happen again but it turned out it was real, i was awake and had just had the wierdest dream ever!

Havent ever had anything that strong/wierd/believable since, odd but in the end lovely :weee:

read a book recently called ‘The art of dreaming’ by Carlos Castenada which explains about dreaming within dreams and allowing your mind to know when u are dreaming and being able to manipulate your own dreams. Was fascinating
