Yeah, straight from wiki: born Silas Kirui in Kenya he ran for Bahrain as Hasan Mahboob Ali, he made an Olympic final in 2008 and ran a good marathon time last year but he never would have made an international team for Kenya and gotten a kit so i guess that’s why he switched nationalities or perhaps some $$$ changed hands.
What in destitute poverty in Kenya or in a cushy job in the Bahrain Military? Guy probably isn’t even Muslim which is why he had to change is name, doubt he gives a fuck what he’s called, he made the right call to change nationalities for his running career although nobody else who switched nationalities to an Arab country got such a shitty name.
