there are at least 3-5 visiting my garden at random times which I have to try and discourage from menacing some ornamental fish in a small pond (I don’t want to totally banish them from the garden provided they leave the fish alone and do use not any part of it for a WC -but setting up the cat detector , the Pfeiftongenerator and loudspeaker system (to play the cats Christian folk music from two Franciscan monks in Austria; having checked this is ethical and legal (St Francis was well regarded by non human species) as well the CCTV camera takes time (the control system needs to be guarded against the loop wires being clawed up; otherwise my pager alert transmitter could get stuck in TX and I’d get trouble from Ofcom (UK equivalent of FCC) for hogging a shared frequency (triple allocated to on site pagers, biology/zoology experiments snd model aircrafts).
Introducing a furrther cat into my house is more likely to result in the internal comms wiring being similarly degraded to the point I am reduced to using the fixed GSM terminal running off a big industrial size accu; and that doesn’t even do Internet (unless anyone knows of an ISP which still accepts ISDN or HSCSD connections)
