  • I bought some horsemeat from a supermarket when I was in Italy a couple of years ago. It was pretty tasty actually, although quite tough (I guess it came from animals that had reached the end of their working lives, rather than animals raised for meat).

It’s a bit surprising to see it in this country, but what’s more worrying is it seems that Tesco have got some issues with their supply chain and can’t account for all the meat that’s in their products – particularly as it’s more common for horsemeat to end up in petfood (along with other animals products ‘unfit for human consumption’, which begs the question what the fuck else is in the burgers?).

When they scrape up all those guts of a factory floor the different guts are bound to get mixed up.
    Shhhhrape
‘eh bob which bucket to I put this in? The tescos prime dog chum bin (nag meat) or the tesco beef burger bin ( moo meat) ?’
‘umm not sure, do half and half they’re not gonna know.

in Belgium there are whole restaurants devoted to horsemeat.

I don’t understand what the problem is, theres nothing wrong with eating horse. People weren’t complaining about the taste so? (I know its false advertising.. but whats the outrage?)

that seems a fair perspective… the quality of most manufactured foods is already very low… we seem to complain far less that manufacturers will do many things for taste, that are bad for health, will try to capture children’s attention in sinister ways and effectively poison them and help start their life on the wrong foot, and will cut whatever cost that they can get away with… we know they’ll be deceitful to the nth degree if left unsupervised… so this is just one more small step down a massive stairway is it not?

I suspect the only real outrage is that we all allow ourselves to believe this doesn’t happen…

Indeed, to be honest anyone who buys processed foods expecting high quality is a fool. I agree with what you say too. I just thought we were over this when a few years ago people found out there was donkey or something in sausages.
Yet they will gladly eat haribos etc. when the gelatin is made from stuff like horse kneecaps and additives that will just give them cancer.

    Forget the tesco horse burgers.
You should try their meat balls… They’re the dogs bollocks!

Who fuckin cares about a poncey horse, they’re retarded creatures, good for 2 things: meat and glue…..true story bro

I would consider eating near enough any animal. As long as it was not diseased and was tasty.

Horse meat? I have no problem with that. Recently tucked into a nice bag of Thai green curry crickets and some chocolate coated scorpians.

Generally if it was once alive I’ll eat it.

I don’t get all these people that don’t eat organs also. Liver, kidneys etc. It’s all good man. Lambs kidneys are really cheap at the moment and are delicious when pan fried.

I’m the exact same, if it tastes good and isn’t bad for you, what’s the problem..?
