  • i know its like an old age thing blah blah but seriously, if we work like two thirds of out lives, well most of us do, would you a) stay in a job that is well paid and has good propects and pay rises every yr etc or b) a less paid job but still enough to live comfortably, more free time for you(ME),and no stress what would you choose or this option abit far fetched c) go off and join the forces, get a career, training, all things paid for, loadsa £££££ and all for 7-10 yrs of your life and then come back to civi street?

    i’m poor and happy.

    Happiness everytime.

how about u dont join the forces u freak
clearly happiness. u dont need money when u live in sheffield!!!!

it doesnt matter about the money, as long as i enjoy the actual job i dont mind what i do, i couldnt do a job i dont enjoy

    I’d go with option b)

However, since a large portion of people’s lives are spent working as you stated, I’m looking towards a career that I enjoy.

    happiness all the way
    :weee:

Money or happiness??? They’re both the same thing arn’t they?

Nah I guess I’d go for option B.

lol cheers a freak ey???? well im trying for it, well sent off the forms and sitting the exam in a week or so me thinks, i need money :bounce_fl not to be happy but it does help, im jus thinking if i can make something of myself in the forces now i can do something later on in life worthwhile

Happiness. I’m actually happier when I have no money at all because I’m much healthier.
No money = no drugs and less beer.

I love to say happiness ..but i find life can be a lot happier when you have money an no debt.. all bout a fine balance between the two ..

i think you should pick doing something you enjoy, when your working at a job you feel passionate for then your one hundred times more likely to work hard and well at what you do, when you work hard and well karma will kick in and benefits will come with time; whether the benefits are money or peace of mind… either is good!

i work for a job i hate with crap money… you’ll know what the right desision for you personaly is, in your heart, and just rememeber that any step forward in life is better than being stood still

Having something to do afterwards means you need to pick the right trade to do when you join, I know to many people who have spent a lot of their lives in the forces only to come out and do crappy jobs. Some can come out ok, my old man did 22 years and now works in the space industry.

Also when i applied for the forces a few years ago they were making more people redundant than they were taking on and the roles they were employing were basically cannon fodder or similar type jobs.

at least come to some parties first then!!!
    u comin to sheffstock?

nah i cannie make it now, no drugs anymore, not that i did them in the first place :weee: …honest lol but seriously im trying my hardest now to give it all up,get healthy and make something of the forces. If i give it my all and i dont manage to make it for some reason i cant blame myself which is what i want the most. I would have lost a few pounds got abit healthier so i mean i wanna get in but if i dont then i can always go back to partying, but got 2 months of dieting, exercise and no drugs or booze. and cutting back on cigs i dont smoke during the day anymore jus a couple in evening :bounce_fl
