unless you look obviously middle aged/senior, carrying loose pills is likely to make cops suspicious anywhere in the world.
However they are not doctors or nurses and the names of pharms are notoriously hard to spell (and different between USA and Europe); unless it is something monitored like oxycodone (class A in this country) or would get you potentially pulled up for DUI then keep anything it in its original container/blister pack and most cops will assume you have some complex health problem and not bother you about them.
