Ugghhh…think I was a jerk.
Girl turned me down telling coworkers I was too short (5’9″ she is 5’7″) and made fun of the fact that I like her. Then she hooked up with a married player who cheats, gambles and drinks exceessively. After they hooked up, knowing I like this girl, he came to me in private and said, “I ****ed her and there is nothing you can do about it.” just to stroke his ego. Then months later she comes to me saying this guy is a zero and wanting to know if I still care for her? She is serious. I did, but felt there is no way she could possibly really care so I just said no and left it at that. Besides she knew this guy was married and he braigs about having affairs with other married women, so I just thought she would not be good LTR material or even a good friend.
She has since, made friends with the player again and is now married to a guy she has only known 5 months. She is also recently (after marriage) pregenant. I feel bad because I really did like her a lot, but given her actions I didn’t think she could be trusted. This whole thing has hurt me so much because I really do like her, but felt forced to push her away only to oddly lose her twice. It hurts so much I have told the player to go **** himself and not to speak to me and although I am polite to the girl, I never speak unless work related and avoid her as much as conveinently possible.
Nothing is black and white. I know she is conflicted by her actions as well and feels bad to some degree. Do you think I am right in distancing myself from her or should I say something to try to ease things over?
