over the last few months I have had to read a myriad of electronics datasheets in Chinglish (with the Chinese and English all mixed together) and have been listening to China Radio on a 1980s shortwave receiver left behind by a former residents relatives; CRI still regularly transmit programmes in English, French and German with a documentary about CN followed by a Chinese lesson (using decent transmitters and locations that can overpower all the local interference).

One reason I learn German and Dutch is they are both far easier than Chinese; although 10 years ago when I went to a local Chinese restaurant for my birthday (with my mum and aunt) within about 5 minutes the boss quizzed us as to whether we were Malaysian; if I was married (I am not) โ soon after a young Chinese lass about the same age started trying to somewhat akwardly flirt with me (with the old guy observing closely โ I suspect he was her biological Dad).
Although she was smart and good looking like these lasses in the video; if things had gone any further I would have been culturally obliged to get married; stay married, produce at least one child and visit the extended family in either CN or MY (so would have to learn Chinese anyway); and regularly attend Mass (priests can help get the immigration visas sorted across Europe). it is not unlike ending up as one of the pandas in the zooโฆ
It wouldnโt have helped either of our families that much as we were both working for family businesses โ I would have taken the kids to NL, DE or DK as it is not safe to raise them in England with dangerous roads; (although now the aircrafts are becoming unsafe) and instead of being able to post here today Iโd be getting stress about preparing the kids for the high school, their exam scores (I would try not to be as strict as Dad but what often happens in many Asian families is Mum becomes stricter), and having to fix about 5 bicycles and 15+ computers/other devicesโฆ
