Jesus was almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings.

The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained an ingredient called kaneh-bosem which has since been identified as cannabis extract, according to an article by Chris Bennett in the drugs magazine, High Times, entitled Was Jesus a Stoner? The incense used by Jesus in ceremonies also contained a cannabis extract, suggests Mr Bennett, who quotes scholars to back his claims.

“There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion,” Carl Ruck, professor of classical mythology at Boston University said.

Referring to the existence of cannabis in anointing oils used in ceremonies, he added: “Obviously the easy availability and long-established tradition of cannabis in early Judaism… would inevitably have included it in the [Christian] mixtures.”

Mr Bennett suggests those anointed with the oils used by Jesus were “literally drenched in this potent mixture… Although most modern people choose to smoke or eat pot, when its active ingredients are transferred into an oil-based carrier, it can also be absorbed through the skin”.

Quoting the New Testament, Mr Bennett argues that Jesus anointed his disciples with the oil and encouraged them to do the same with other followers. This could have been responsible for healing eye and skin diseases referred to in the Gospels.

“If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient anointing oil… and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ,” Mr Bennett concludes.

Gives ‘Stoning’ a whole new meaning.:D

    Anyone say Jehova?

…. in addition to cannabis…. Jesus was also the 1st MC, or at least thats what Ive been told

    Should Cannabis laws be relaxed?

Most cannabis users caught by police will in future escape with a warning and confiscation of the drug.

Under new police guidelines, cannabis users will only be arrested in certain aggravating circumstances.

These could include smoking in public, having the drug around children or for being persistent offenders.

But critics say the new rules will cause widespread confusion, with many mistakenly thinking the drug has been made legal.

worth noting that this was planned for a long time ago – should have happened this year but the antis kicked up so much fuss it was delayed!

Auch wenn du am Abgrund stehst, und gar nichts mehr verstehst,
wachen Engel über dich, halten dich im Licht und lassen dich nie fallen.

In Belgium, the new cannabis law makes it legal for adults to carry cannabis (5 grams; or 3 grams after a letter sent out by minister M. Verwilghen). Minors will still have legal issues when caught with cannabis. For adults, they cannot smoke in public, nor have it with them around minors, nor cause any inconvenience.

It’s taken a long time before this law came to be, and now that it is, some say that it can cause confusion… However, it is now clear that cannabis for minors is simply NOT DONE, and the circumstances in which adults can use it are limited and clearly defined. There’s rumours about coffeeshops being indulged too… but all in good time, being Belgium of course 😉

Sorry, that wasn’t funny nor clever, just a bit bkjkiyjkhjkED.

Hi, was smoking a few spliffs the other night, and me and my boyfriend ran out of tobacco. He had a cigarette to use in the spliff but we weren’t keen on the idea of cigareete tobacco with no filter, more crap in it etc. so he incorporated the filter into the making of the joint. I didn’t have any, he still got high. So i started thinking would it be a good idea to start putting filters in normal spliffs as you do with rollies? I can’t imagine it interferes with the high, but i’m not sure.would save your lungs a bit.

    What does everyone reckon?

iv done it ..u dnt get nearly as fuked

I you’re using ordinary cigarettes instead of tobacco, be sure to first heat the cigarette (by gently rolling your lit lighter alongside) in order to burn out all the nasty additives they put in cigarettes (for taste, for addiction and who knows what else).

regarding filters, I wouldn’t incorporate them in a spliff, not only because you’ll get less out of your fine smokables, but also because the particles that inevitably come off the glass wool do damage to your lungs. An ordinary W-shaped roach is far better, and all you need is a small piece of paper.

In conclusion: cigarettes can be used, yes, but I would definitely ditch the filter idea.
