old exodus collective (correct me if im wrong GL) who are trying to do licensed raves? i think? do they live in a commune or was that just exodus?

yep thats them. the exodus commune folded in 2000/2001 due to disagreements and greed but Leviticus is trying to ressurect what they had planned. Leviticus have pulled off a number of small scale licensed events in their home area of Luton. Progress at anything else is slow but they are still keepng on at it.

this is the Luton transition towns movement

Transition Luton

On the subject of over population of Britain, I would say that the over population isn’t just confined to the UK – the whole of the world has the same thing happening…

From Brave new world revisited (by Aldous Huxley – managed to find a web version of it if anyone wants to read it)

Quote:
On the first Christmas Day the population of our planet was about two hundred and fifty millions — less than half the population of modern China. Sixteen centuries later, when the Pilgrim Fathers landed at Plymouth Rock, human numbers had climbed to a little more than five hundred millions. By the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, world population had passed the seven hundred million mark. In 1931, when I was writing Brave New World, it stood at just under two billions. Today, only twenty-seven years later, there are two billion eight hundred million of us. And tomorrow — what?

The answer to that last question – in 2009 human population has topped 6 billion (the US world population clock puts it at 6,785,138,596 at 11.14GMT today)…

I always felt that Brave new world was a far scarier prospect than the often quoted and worried about 1984 – at least in 1984 the protagonists were aware big brother was watching them – if you know you’re a slave you can dream of freedom… Coming back to the point however – in the revisited essay, one of the things Huxley warns about is the change in the world democracies from the use of optimistic language to the use of negative language – ie from the use of language telling you what a particular government can do for you and yours to language telling you what a government will save you from…. Seems to me this has already happened – the immigration debate is a prime example of this cynical politics…

In Huxleys view, this change in outlook towards fear is the beginning point of a downward spiral (which he saw as almost inevitable), which ends with a worldwide dictatorship (one which if cleverly done would exist without 99% of the population being even aware it existed)…

So next time you go vote, you might want to look at the parties and maybe think about voting for the ones that are punting optimism 😉

Im happy they have stopped the non eu countrys from working here, but maybe they should put a stop to the poles:cry:old news i know.

I personally dont mind anyone EU or non-EU coming here to work. If all the lazy, bone-idle scroungers on the dole worked half as hard as all the polish (for example) do, then this country wud b way better off!

If they beat some dumbass, lazy scrounger to a job then good for them!! At least they are willing to have a go.

What i do insist on are strict rules on them claiming any sort s of benefits (if there isnt already)….such as not being eligible for benefits until they have worked and paid tax for a few years (5-7 maybe).

^ this, completely. stop complaining that the polish are taking your jobs, they’re picked because they work harder than you.

and i also agree with benefits.. i don’t think it’s right for someone to come here, not work and sponge off benefits. the BNP put this in their manifesto (i think).

i cant stand them, they drive me mad, all of them.

i work bloody hard 12 hours a day 5 days a week just to have a shit load of my wages taken from me in taxes, and for what? to support these spongers. i live in oxford and have done all my life. Im a single 21 yr old female who has been on the list for council housing for five years, yes thats right, FIVE YEARS!!! If i had been from another country id have been given a key to a house and a benefits book at the airport on my arrival.

just a story- two days ago i phoned 118 118 to get a number and as you all know these are really expensive at about 50p per minute. A bloody immigrant answered who couldn’t speak or understand a word of english. I was on the phone for at least 5 mins spelling out smiths to her. what a waste of money. if they’re gonna live here then at least have the decency to speak our language.

Send ’em all ‘ome is what i say!!!!

Your downfall in life was the mentality that made you sign up for social housing at age 16, seems like your up bringing gave you a pessimistic outlook

the eastern europeans that moved to ireland had to have had paid income tax for 12 months before they could claim the dole, when the place went bust they were allowed to go home and claim dole for 6 months, of the 10s and 10s of tousands of polish that left about 750 took up the offer

Hi All ,
I have a lot of respect for the Polish ……lets not forget …….WW2. The First Polish people to come to this country in any numbers . Why because of Battle of Britain , the first battle Britain won against the nazi’s …..note i say Nazi’s not German …..Germans fought for us as well .

Polish Airmen ( yes airmen as women were not alllowed to fight ? ) , made some of the best squadrons in the RAF . Infact im sure a Polish Squadron was the Highest Squadron of Kills . So when you think Polish shouldn’t be here well think again .

Also think Indian , jamaican , Australian , American, Czechoslovakia as was then ….Yogoslavia as was then ……Greek …..New Zealand ……South African as was then and a load of other nations ……forgive me in my haste if i missed these nations out .

I forget Dutch , Danish , Finns , people from Asia ( various countries ) …..the list goes on ……so people from other countries mean a good thing to me . Just i think maybe this country should make sure the right people come to this country . No race no religion no colour ……im talking those that dont want this way of life yet come here and declare war on us . No brainer ……de-port .

We live in one house …….lets live in a happy house 🙂

Regards
Mungo

Hi All ,
Shit i forget Africans ……Spanish………well lets face it the whole world .

anyway , back to happy and all getting along …..to you extremists wether you be muslim , christian or the judeian people front……splitters you mean the people front of judeia lol . Who cares where you from , just that you can fit in with our way of life ……..And Manaman thats you even though you like to walk around with your old boy wrapped in bacon on a silver platter ……..any takers ?

Mungo …..needle and thread at the ready !!!

regards
Mungo

One race, the human race!

There already are strict rules for claiming beneifts like having to apply for and look for work and attend back to work meetings at the jobcentre!

“Not being able to claim any benefits until you have worked for several years”? What about school and college leavers who can’t get a job straight away? Are they supposed to live and beg on the streets? The reason most jobs keep going to foreigners is because employers want to pay the lowest wage possible! Wages have been driven down since mass migration from eastern Europe started in 2004.

this thread is long and old but i’m new here, why not say what i think… (and i can’t sleep)

open all the doors/gates/boarders. there should be no such thing as ‘birth right’, or even ‘immigration.’ all the things we own, the skills we’ve learnt are all down to luck of where we’re born. we don’t really own these ‘things,’ this ‘place’.

a problem is depersonalisation; ‘this person i don’t know is doing this’ or ‘these people… blah,’ but once we realise everyone is a person just like us, with the same hopes, dreams and fears then we can understand how ridiculous this all is, especially when there are people with so little.

so great, i live in england where we have everything (material only). in the past we realised that if we built big fast boats with plenty of weapons we could travel round the world causing havoc, stealing resources and later saying ‘all this stuff is ours now and you can’t come in.’ also we have a cunning use of flags (…eddie izzard)

ownership is the opposite of sharing and sharing is nice… why would we want to deny ourselves this feel good experience. giving is liberation, selfishness is regression… he types into his macbook pro

bed time

Sad immigration shows, its Illegal for afghans to hide inside lorries to get into our country, but its ok to march thru theirs with guns?
