Mob lays siege to Great Yarmouth police station Original story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/6953609.stm
Quote:
A police station in Norfolk came under siege in the early hours of the morning when a group of about 100 people hurled beer and wine bottles at the building.
The attack in Great Yarmouth, happened after police arrested three people in a van carrying sound equipment.
Police later attended an "unlicensed music event" at an industrial estate.
Ch Supt Bob Scully said the arrested people were not involved in the police station attack, but they were linking the two incidents.
The attack was declared a major incident by Norfolk Police and Ch Supt Scully said: "We acted swiftly to control the situation and restore order."
Police are now monitoring the "rave" event at a warehouse on the Harfrey industrial estate on the outskirts of the resort.
do these people think they are doin society a favour by fightin de babylon or summat? can't be good for the scene this shit.123

DJ ROLANDO should need no introduction what so ever but here is a cut down version of his biog:
Though he's one of the later recruits to Detroit's Underground Resistance family, DJ Rolando (aka the Aztec Mystic) became one of the most important figures in the UR organization after two releases: his Aztec Mystic Mix, which compiled all of the label's brightest tracks in a stunning compilation; and his "Jaguar" single, a leftfield dance hit that became a flashpoint for UR's anti-major label stance. Raised in Mexicantown (right next to the Ambassador Bridge on Detroit's southwest side), Rolando grew up mixing the freestyle and hip-hop that was common currency around the area.
A friend introduced him to "Mad" Mike Banks, the leader of Underground Resistance and one of the primary figures in Motor City techno.
In early 1999, "Jaguar" had gained so much attention that Sony Germany attempted a tone-for-tone trance remake of the track for potential chart entry and inclusion on DJ albums.
Underground Resistance immediately organized an uprising of record-store owners, techno purists, and underground DJs worldwide to protest the recording and boycott its release. Even while another megalabel, BMG, considered doing the same thing, Sony backed down and pulled the single. UR responded with Revenge of the Jaguar: The Mixes, an EP with remixes by Detroit figures Jeff Mills and Octave One as well as Banks himself.

Are free parties just an excuse to take drugs? had a discussion with my mates in the pub on sunday. I reckon free parties are more than just an excuse for getting muntered, because they show how a group of people can self police and create a free space. for me, they were part of my political education whilst I was at uni (fair enough, I was doing a degree in politics). also there is a higher proportion of people thinking in alternative ways at these things, and discussing them (well sometimes)
my mates reckoned I was being idealistic (could be a fair cop, but there are worse things to be...) and they are just an excuse to get muntered for a good long time, without being searched or paying to get in and in nice surroundings1234
Shrooms Okay so I've done Shrooms once already and didn't get any visuals. I took double the dose of my friend took and he got visuals, but it wasn't his first time and it was mine. Is this going to be like weed where I it really starts to the second and third time once your body gets used to the chemical. Also if anyone has some pointers on mushroom hunting. Like do you think it's safe?
Shrooms..A trip experience Can't remember if that was what I saw back then :weee:
But it might have been...

Codecs and media player I started using a set of new movie codecs (filters) because the release I used to use hasn't been updated for a long time. Anyway I rate it because it comes with the ultimate players namely the original (no messing about) media player and covers a complete range of available codecs...
