2007-08-04&05 Virgin Festival – To Our Valued Patrons From Buzzlife Founder A BIG hello and exciting news from Buzzlife Productions to the underground dance community:
It has been nearly a year since the Buzz/Nation Closing Party last July when I last had the opportunity to reach out to our community. During this time, we have had the opportunity to bring DC such artists such as John Digweed, MSTRKRFT, Grandmaster Flash, Hybrid, John B, Lee Coombs and others. We have worked with venues such as the infamous 930 Club, Avenue, Five, R&R Lounge and The Rock & Roll Hotel.
I am writing to tell you that Buzzlife has been invited to participate in this year’s Virgin Festival dance tent. We are completely blown away by this invitation.
The two-day 2007 Virgin Festival will take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on August 4th and 5th.
The Virgin Festival, much like Buzzlife itself, is strongly committed to the dance music community. They have put together a lineup unlike any other the mid-Atlantic has seen in years: Sasha & Digweed, LCD Soundsystem, Danny Tenaglia, Infected Mushroom, Miguel Migs, Sander Van Doorn, Dieselboy vs Andy C, and much MORE! (Full lineup, including bands, listed below)
These superstars will be showcased in the manner they deserve. Inside the massive dance tent, there will be unparalleled sound, state-of-the-art lights and video, and a few Buzzlife surprises to help ensure this event will be unforgettable. Planned protest for unjustified police actions at the bank holiday event AS YOU WELL KNOW THERE WAS A RIOT ON THE ESSEX / CAMBRIDGESHIRE BORDER IN GREAT
CHESTERFORD OVER AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND WHEN SEVERAL HUNDRED RIOT POLICE
MOVED IN TO SHUT DOWN THE FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING. THERE WAS NO
COMMUNICATION MADE BY THE POLICE TO THE ORGANISERS OR PEOPLE AT THE VENUE. THE
ONLY ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE WERE BY A HELICOPTER WHICH IS FAIRLY HARD TO HEAR WHEN
YOU HAVE A SOUND SYSTEM PLAYING LOUD MUSIC IN FRONT OF YOU.
ALL SOUND SYSTEM'S WERE SEIZED, RIG VANS & AUDIO EQUIPMENT SMASHED TO PIECES BY
RIOT POLICE. RIG OWNERS PERSONAL POSSESSIONS WERE ALSO SEIZED. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN
TOLD THE RIGS WILL NOT BE RETURNED UNTIL THE CASE HAS GONE TO COURT WHICH COULD
BE YEARS.
A LARGE NUMBER OF PARTY PEOPLE WERE INJURED AND SOME ARE STILL IN HOSPITAL TO
THIS DAY. A GIRL RECEIVED A VERY SERIOUS NECK INJURY WHERE SHE WAS ASLEEP IN HER
TENT AND RIOT POLICE PURPOSLELY TRAMPLED OVER IT. ONE PERSON MAY HAVE LOST THE
SIGHT IN HIS EYE FROM WHERE A POLICE OFFICER BATTERED HIM AROUND THE HEAD WITH A
BATTON FOR NO REASON, CS GAS WAS SPRAYED INTO CROWDS OF PEOPLE, IT WAS ALSO
SPRAYED ON YOUNG GIRLS, CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13. POLICE DOGS WERE ALLOWED
TO ATTACK GIRLS, CHILDREN AND OTHER PEOPLE. AND MANY MANY OTHERS HAVE CUTS AND
BRUISES FROM THIS AWFUL CASE OF POLICE BRUTALITY.
THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST CASE OF POLICE BRUTALITY IN THE RAVE SCENE SINCE THE
1990'S AND WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO SIT BY AND ACCEPT THAT THIS IS NORMAL
BEHAVIOUR.
SO IF YOU BELEIVE YOU WERE MISTREATED BY THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PAID TO SERVE AND
PROTECT THE PUBLIC THEN COME TO THE PROTEST OUTSIDE HARLOW POLICE STATION AT 2PM
ON SATURDAY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND HELP US FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO PARTY.
IF YOU WERE HIT BY A POLICE OFFICER OR SUSTAINED AN INJURY OR HAD YOUR PROPERTY
DAMAGED AND DONT WANT TO SEE THINGS LIKE THIS BECOMING A REGULAR OCCURANCE THEN

What is going on with bus companies?? I have 3 days part time work at the mo at a primary school in Barnsley (takes an hour on the bus to get there from sheff..) and the bus offers a day pass for £4.00...so i get on the bus('First' bus company) from home to town centre then i get a bus from town to work in Barnsley (stagecoach), however on the way back on the bus (stagecoach) the driver says that he cant accept my ticket because its only valid for the 'First' bus company. I couldn't belive it, he said he woulda normally accepted it but since First are no longer accepting passes from Stagecoach, Stagecoach are now retaliating by not accepting First passes....so i had to pay extra fare to get back to sheffield! :cry::cry:
