UK : NW : Merseyside cops issue pill warning Merseyside cops have warned about a "bad batch" of MDMA/XTC pills in circulation around the region.
They are described as "orange/red", shaped like a shield rather than circular and with a "lion / griffon " logo on them.
It is not clear as yet what the "bad" pils actually contain; whether they are PMMA or a very high strength MDMA pill which have also been in circulation in the Netherlands.
I will keep an eye out on both UK and NL news in case any more info turns up about these...
UK : NW : 2 fatalities at Cream finale event I've put this in "Drugs" for the moment athough not all the details are confirmed as to whether both of them took drugs and if so exactly what type (there are some medical conditions that can cause an otherwise healthy young person to suddenly keel over even if they haven't taken drugs at all) but its worth keeping an eye on in case there are any particularly bad substances being sold in the UK at present and/or any other conditions inside this particular venue (which is now being closed anyway) that could have made things worse (overcrowding etc)

The Brethus' Review Of, "F Is For Family"

On December 18th, 2015 a new, "Netflix Original," show called, "F Is For Family," which was, thankfully, created by comedian Bill Burr and Michael Price.
With mostly positive reviews from critic-based websites like rotten tomatoes and meta-critic it is gaining popularity. The show is based on a simple family in the 70's scraping by and trying to survive their miserable lives and escaping everyday stressful situations such as bullies, neighbors, bosses, black people, and of course each other. Moreover, the show takes place in the 1970s, "a time when you could smack your kid, smoke inside, and bring a gun to the airport" One of the more vulgar shows out there, to me, I find it quite hilarious and it also has a great little story to the first season.
With only 6 episodes running about 30 minutes, the 1st season has great story progression and character development. The emotional distress and bonding between the family members is what drags me to love the show because of my relationship with my parents and siblings. As messed up as the family is you come to learn that they all have their resentments and issues, but if you pay attention, you can feel the love and connection between them.

Frank Murphy - (Bill Burr)
The father, Frank Murphy, runs the household by working at an airport. As a Korean War veteran he is very ill tempered and vulgar. He hates people but loves television.

Sue Murphy - (Laura Dern)
The mother, Sue Murphy, is the care taker of the family by cooking, cleaning, keeping peace, but most importantly, selling plastic Tupperware to the surrounding areas.

Kevin Murphy - (Kevin Long)
Kevin, the eldest son, is 14 and failing out of school. Although he despises his father and his orders, he always helps his brother when in need, or when on weed.

Bill Murphy - (Haley Reinhart)
As the middle child, Bill, is seen as the, "Pussy," of the group due to how he deals with his bullies and how he has no spine, according to his father.

Maureen Murphy - (Debi Derryberry)
Now, Maureen, is the youngest, and according to Frank, the princess. He sees her as the best behaved child, but when away from him she is actually the worst.

D.O.G - (Major)
Finally we have the least seen family member, and that's Major. Not too much character development other than leg-humping and occasionally standing cross eyed.

Vic is Frank's party-animal and playboy neighbor. Unbeknownst to Vic Frank isn't too fond of his lavish lifestyle, or him. He snorts various substances and is very spiritual.
Kenny & Phillip - (Debi Derryberry)
Kenny & Phillip are brothers(?) who are friends with Bill and Maureen. You have to infer that their parents are either gone or hillbillies due to their behavior and speech.
David Koechner - (Bob Pogo)
Bob is senior Vice President of Mohican Airways, where Frank works. He's second in command and first in line for a heart attack.
Rodger Dunbarton - (Gary Cole)
Mr. Dunbarton is President/CEO of Mohican Airways and would never fuck someone as old as his daughter. He's as stereotypical as a white corporate CEO can get.
Rosie - (Kevin Michael Richards)
Rosie is Frank's good friend at the baggage claim inside of the airport. At least until Frank gets his promotion and the crew threatens a strike.

-My Opinion & Review-
After watching the show two times through and taking in the comedic values and emotional connections, I've come to really like the show. I hope to see many more seasons and learn more about the characters. Kevin I can relate to most because he does miss his connection with his father that he use to have as a child, but now flunks out of school, gets suspended, and smokes weed. Bill and Maureen are just like a lot of siblings, and really, the whole family is completely similar to my family. The other characters, not too much, but they add more of a hilarity factor to the show.

Out of 5 I give it a 4.5
Just because I'd like to see more character development and more down-to-heart stories.

Crystal Meth – Methamphetamine Crystal Meth
Is also known as ice, crystal, glass, crank, yaba in its various forms.
Its chemical name is methamphetamine hydrochloride and in its pure form it is a colourless crystalline solid. [In its most impure form it can be a crumbly brown or off-white crystal structure - this is the version known as crank]
The crystal meth bought on the street may be impure due to bad synthesis or may have been cut with other things to bulk out the quantity.
Effects of methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant which closely mimics the body's natural fight-or-flight response to danger or threat.
[increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, constriction of the artery walls, dilation of the bronchial tubes (oncreases oxygen uptake), and increased blood sugar]
Users are more focused, more alert and lose their appetite as well as not noticing fatigue at the lower doses. If a higher dose is taken [especially by smoking] a 'rush' or 'flash' is experienced which causes intense pleasure but only lasts a few minutes. If it is used regularly the dose required to get the same rush can escalate rapidly.
Other effects of methamphetamine are:
Twitching or jitteryness or restlessness
Dry mouth
Jaw clenching/teeth grinding
Agitation
Repetitive behaviour patterns [like obsessive compulsive behaviour but drug induced]
Diaorrhea
Nausea
Loss of appetite
Insomnia, disturbed sleep patterns
Irritability
Talkativeness
Panic attacks
Dilated pupils
Increased libido [often without erection in males]
Weightloss
Sweating
Visual and auditory hallucinations [hearing and seeing things]
Itching [leads to scratching and welts on the skin]
Shortness of breath
Anxiety
Aggressiveness and violent behaviour
Suspiciousness & paranoia
Overconfidence [false sense of importance and power]
Severe depression, suicidal tendencies
The effects on the body of long term use are:
Psychological addiction
Weight loss
Depression on the come down
Inability to maintain an erection
Very fast loss of teeth due to low saliva production and reduced blood supply to the mouth combined with bad oral hygiene
Psychosis
Poor imminue system function
Anxiety
Chronic fatigue
Emotional mood swings
Kidney and lung damage [can be fatal]

Methamphetamine also has a significant risk of overdose due to the ways it can be taken; the symptoms of overdose include:
a sensation that the user's skin is crawling with bugs [the user may pick at their skin causing sores which become infected due to repeated picking]
Long term cognitive impairment [that means permanent brain damage which alters how you behave/function][symptoms are similar to Parkinson's disease]
Severe depression
Serious overheating
Convulsions
Delusions and/or hallucinations
Paranoia
Kidney damage[caused by reduced blood supply to the organs]
Comas
Kidney failure
Death due to a heart attack
Death due to burst blood vessels in the brain [stroke]
How methamphetamine is taken
Methamphetamine can be taken in a variety of ways:
Orally, snorting, inhaling the vapourised fumes and intravenously being the most common (anal insertion and insertion into the urethra are also sometimes used).
Methamphetamine bought on the street is usually cut with other substances making the actual strength of the drug unknown until consumed.
A regular users dose of methamphetamine (especially intravenous user) could be fatal to an occassional user so please be very careful if you use it.
If you are going to be taking the drug start with small amounts until you have gauged the strength of the batch you have.
Erowid Methamphetamine Vault : Dosage gives you and idea of the dosages involved in safe use of the drug.
Please be aware that regular use of this drug quickly leads to tolerance and leads to larger doses being required for the same effect and that repeated use of the drug in a day will lead to the loss of the initial euphoric feeling a new user feels.
Some drugs such as MAOI inhibitors have an adverse [bad] reaction with methamphetamine and are very dangerous when taken in conjunction with it.
Also make sure you are aware of the symptoms of overdose so that you know when you have overdone it and may require medical assistance.
Some final cautionary notes
Please be aware that there is a world of difference between what is normally called speed and crystal meth
Sspeed is amphetamine sulphate; crystal meth is methamphetamine.
Tthere have only been 89 recorded deaths from amphetamine sulphate since 1886; i have no idea exactly what the crystal meth figures are but we are talking hundreds.

DE: 8500 new teachers for German classes to 196 000 refugee children At first I thought this was way too few; but TBH it would make the class sizes no worse than 1970s/80s UK and the kids are likely to be better behaved.
That is of course assuming these are individual extra classes for the refugee kids and the new teachers are not diverted to other subjects/classes for everyone else in the school; which might not be unlikely given there is already a shortage of teachers in Germany in many areas before the refugee crisis (there is also a shortage of children across Northern Europe!)
If the German government is going to do this I think they should also put all the learning materials online at the public broadcasters websites so the teachers can all get to them easily and everyone else in the EU or any age who might want to learn German as a second/third language can use them; as that could help everybody in the long term...
