POLYMORPHIC FREE PARTY – FRIDAY 26TH MAY It's been a long time coming, so we are extremely pleased to tell you that Polymorphic will be doing a FREE PARTY this Friday (26th May) in the Ballroom of The Royal Hotel in Southend. This has come just at the right time for us, as the crew had only got together a few weeks ago to discuss putting on another gig. Then, just a week later, we were asked if we would like to throw a party in the Ballroom of the Royal Hotel. Considering much of the sound system in this venue is taken from the old Polymorphic rig, we thought it would be ideal. The Ballroom is a fantastic space for a party and better still, we are able to run this event as a free party, so please come down and show your support!
In anticipation of this monumental event, DJ Oracle will be playing a selection of classic Polymorphic choons on his show this Monday evening from 8-10pm (BST). If you would like to have a chat about the forthcoming party and get all excited like us, then you can contact us live in the studio on polymorphic@hotmail.co.uk using MSN Messenger.
Because of the short notice of this event, we haven't had time to produce any flyers, so we are relying on the old skool (and still the best) method of advertising and that's "word of mouth". In short, we need your help!!! Therefore we kindly ask you to spread the word and forward this email onto anyone you think may be interested.
For more information and general keenness, visit the Poly forums and check out the party thread (click the link below):

Thanks for your time and look forward to seeing you on Friday.

UK : East : TENS confusion leaves bumpkins without beer! Read recently that there was some sort of traditional agricultural show in Bury St Edmunds - a regular event...(the South Suffolk Show)
This year they used the TENS system for licensing; but were late in submitting the application (somehow thought the council office staffwere going to work weekends :surprised!)
Apparently in previous years the organiser would have just had a chat with the local magistrate but this sort of old style nepotism is no longer permitted with the new laws..
So anyway (presumably) the cops let them put on the event - but minus beer tent! It did seem a bit of a shame to me as there is plenty of good real ale in this area - OTOH its another case of middle englands laws coming back to bit them in the arse.
These laws were brought in precisely because areas like Suffolk had people who moaned and lobbied councillors/politicians to "rein in the late night economy as its keeps us awake..."
Unfortunately it does seem though people simply accept the law even if they moan a bit (although I can't see the plod being able to bust an agricultural show, got visions of them being chased off by a prize bull, a pack of dogs from Alsatians to small terriers, and pitchfork-waving farmers/yokels ;) )
1 love……….. (i think) Any one reach this??? By the time i got there the old bill were blockin the entrance, tried the old "just going to pick a mate up line" but a copper was giving it sumthing about a public order act, werent sure wether it was bollocks or not but he told us we could go in another entrance if we could find 1! we decieded to take the worse route n park at a train station n walk down the line (party woz under railway bridge) n missionin it!
party woz cool, remember old bill going up to the decks n makin them turn it down then walkin away n tunes goin right up even louder bout 2 seconds later!
Woz a proper mud fest, enough cars were stuck n havin to be pushed out, some big 4X4 bizzness!
UK : East : entire Suffolk rave teleports 30 miles – according to local press.. from Evening Star website...

Suffolk police today stepped in to close down a rave that had been going on all night in a Suffolk village. The illegal party started on Saturday at Coney Weston between Diss and Thetford, and officers moved in early today to bring it to a close.

These places are 30 miles apart .... not only is this inaccurate it increases the locals fear as they think more events are happening than is actually the case...
advice needed please? Hi,
Im new to these boards (and scene!) but if anyone feels like taking a chance and giving some advice itd be well appreciated!
Basically I desperately need some advice on the following 3 subjects:
1. Wot is the best way to sort out a rig which is very likely to be impounded? Ive heard people talk of doing a 'hire-out'? But Im not sure exactly what this means or how it works?
2. Wot are the various laws that surround freeparties which have no legal basis (i.e. no temp license, not legal venue etc)
3. Wot are the best places (such as this site?) to publicise big, public freeparties?
I understand if folks are skeptikal and dont wanna reply, but any help is massively appreciated!!!!
Cheers, W.U.
