TOTAL NUMBNUT IDIOTS I've just received a text message from a friend telling me that some complete shitferbrains cuntbag idiot has put an advert on a message board of a local nightclub's website advertising my free party. I've had the post removed and posted a 'Party Cancelled' topic immediately, but I'm worried the damage is done. Am I being over paranoid or should I call it off/ relocate?
MCR RAVES Manchester has had a ledgendary nite at the mental hospital and b4 that at cheadle hulme in the warehouse, they were nites to remember. Then the missinginmanchester one came up last saturday and everything fucked up which highly pissed me off. But i reckon we should have another rave at the mental hospital or summot but it shud go on for a few days, get another nite to be remembered on the go. show every1 y we are 24hour party ppl.

PEL – is there a time limit for launching proceedings? ISTR that In some legal matters there has to be a certain timescale in which the allegation is made otherwise no further legal action can be taken
Obviously not for stuff like murder and violence (we all see news reports where some OAP is carted out of a nursing home in handcuffs for some crime he committed in their youth) - but I wonder if there is a time limit for relatively minor summary (non arrestable) offences such as PEL prosecutions?
The reason I ask is I am concious that many of the posts on here are often heavy political stuff, and I would love to start doing party reviews again but there is the obvious danger of incriminating people now... when you say "xxx rig was at yyy party" its a bit of soft intelligence that CPS lawyers could use [in conjunction with their own photo evidence from helicopters and EGTs] to launch a PEL prosecution.
But if they can't do anything about a party which happened 2 years ago then it would be OK to write reviews, upload photos etc.....

UK : curious case of a ridgeway "bike thief". This is an extract from a pressrel from the May bank holiday rave which happened on the Ridgeway
Four people have been arrested for minor drugs offences and one for theft of a bicycle. No further information is available on these people at this time.
Does anyone know any more about what happened here?
if someone rode to the party on a stolen bike (or worse still nicked it from a cyclist in the vicinity who may have left it unlocked whilst having a rest stop) and was caught then TBH they got what they deserved from the cops.. And after some scrotes forced my garage door in 2002 and removed a bike which some friends had specially built for me I would advocate re-using coombe gibbet for dealing with bike thieves... (I now keep my bikes inside the house..)
OTOH are the cops routinely stopping any young people they see near the ridgeway on bikes, particularly if they happen to be in the vicinity of raves? How would they tell a raver apart from the people who always cycle on the ridgeway.
Does this mean I am going to have to carry the paperwork showing which bike shop I got mine from (legitimately bought with my own money) every time I go about in South Oxfordshire, lest I am accused of stealing my own machine?
what next, the local cycling club rides being stopped by TVP roadblocks and everyone being requested to bring in their bike shop receipts within 7 days?

Not only is it election year locals and cops were a bit harsher last year because of whinging locals, we need to be careful problems that have occured in the city don't carry through to the outdoors.
Most of the rest of the good advice is already on here
so...
remember to
bring all the stuff you need for the rave (rigs and equipment, happy people, "support kit" like first aid eqpt, rugs etc...)
but
leave behind your personal disputes and egos.. we do not need them in the blazing heat particularly after people have been 12 hours without sleep on a variety of drugs
and
collect your rubbish / and yourselves when it gets to the stage its clear the party's gone on a bit too long! Of course don't finish too early but don't rinse the area until Sunday night and end up with half surrounding villages calling 999 as they think they have been invaded..
Remember everyone including yourselves needs sleep and rest particularly if your travelling bare distance.

i am a german student @ luton uni and now i wonder...
what has happened to the uk, the cradle of acid house???
i thought i would get to go out orderly here, but instead i have to read about all this discriminating against us (and have to listen to top40 dance mainstream s***, sorry, stuff).
so, if there is any life in beds, please please let me know! i am afraid i just don't know the right people yet, which doesn't make it any easier...and all i want is a decent night out without having to spend all my money in some london mega-club!
i know it's asking a lot, but i really hope i can get in touch with someone of you out there soon, before i've died from acute boredom!

what size of rig??? can anyone help me here, I am putting on an outdoor party sometime in the next few weeks which I have to hire a soundsystem for. I am expecting between 100-150 people at this party, the clearing I will be holding it in is quite big, probably about 30m2. What size of soundsystem would be adequate for this party? I dont want to ask the hire guy for his advice since it would probably be a bad idea to tell him where it is going to be used.
