Earl asks ravers to leave private woods BBC News
An earl whose estate is being used for an illegal party has appealed to ravers to leave the ancient forest which he says is being damaged.
About 800 revellers have been gathered in Savernake Forest in Wiltshire since Saturday evening.
Accompanied by two police officers, Lord Cardigan is leafleting the ravers asking them to stop the party and avoid further damage to the 1000-year-old woodland, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The leaflet says the privately-owned forest is "clearly being harmed by this invasion by wheeled vehicles and the number of people present".
It asks: "We hope you share our concerns and we therefore ask that you move from here today, thereby eliminating the risk to the forest that was so present last night and allow the forest to recover".
Wiltshire Police have stopped anyone joining the 800 already at the forest and were meeting to discuss how to break up the gathering.

CHELMSFORD Borough Council has successfully prosecuted two Earls Colne men for their involvement in an illegal rave at Montrose Road, Chelmsford on 20 and 21 April last year.
Mathew Clague and Mathew Moore pleaded guilty at Witham Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday 19 February, to the offence of ‘being concerned in the organisation or management of a public entertainment event without a public entertainment licence’. They were each fined £750 and ordered to each pay £750 costs.
Chelmsford Borough Council decided to prosecute after receiving evidence that the conditions in the premises were totally unsafe. Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service, who went to the warehouse (formerly occupied by A-Z Supplies), found that there was no lighting in the premises, no lit means of escape, no staff to supervise an emergency evacuation and no first aid facilities. In addition, the mezzanine floor, which was in the process of being dismantled, was found to be unbolted and completely free standing.
Chelmsford Borough Council’s Commercial Services Manager, Dawn French said: “We took this action to protect public safety. The event could so easily have ended in disaster. If something had gone wrong, like the mezzanine collapsing, revellers could have been killed.”

TV education programme looking for contributors I am working on an education series for Channel 4 (UK) called the "A-Z of Drugs." The series is aimed at young people and aims to show the positive and negative sides of drug taking. We believe that only through presenting the facts in an honest and non-judgemental way can we hope to inform our young audience.
In order to be credible and honest, we think it is vital that people who have taken/ are taking dance drugs recreationally should be allowed to talk of their positive reasons for taking those drugs.

Many of you know me as either Scooby_Doo_Where_RU on the web or Steve in this matrix of this we call a world. Anyway we are putting together another RISE music festival this memorial day weekend. That is like a month for any of you that cant calculate time in your head. The first RISE festival was amazing! We had 2000 people come out to the Volusia county fair grounds in DeLand. This year we expect to tripple this number and the venue we have booked is much larger in size with several ammedities. Anyway I hope ya all can come out, we have a month to plan, it's going to be awesome! Foward this to everyone that ya know is cool so we can get a good turn out.
