Can Lyrica be prescribed for anxiety? I think the answer is no but lately I've heard a lot of controversial uses for a lot of drugs prescribed for Fibro Myalgia, etc. Some prescribe antidepressants for FM patients, some prescribe anti-epileptic meds, etc. If you didn't know already, I suffer from Bipolar Disorder so I have a psychiatrist that I see every few months for about 30 minutes of talk therapy and medication management. I am not an addict of any kind, I'm not out scouting for pain medication, I just liked the way it "de-stressed" me last year the night and morning of my surgery. I was prescribed Lyrica, not sure what dose but it was pretty low, for the first week of my recovery period and also to take the night before and morning of surgery. The medication made me feel so at peace, it was like pot in pill form. I was just chilled out and not in a "I'm passing out" or "zzz" sort of way...I was fully functioning, not high at all and felt my stress just release.
Does anyone know if they are doing tests to put out trials for this? Or can I be prescribed Lyrica through my psych for anxiety management? I'm not 100% familiar with prescription medications vs the law or even if some states in the US don't allow them but for certain things...I know, that makes me sound so dumb. I apologize for my ignorance.12

you can buy better 6 unit chargers from HongKong, but in the meantime I investigated and modified one of those I already have to make it slightly safer - which was a fiddly and awkard job due to its construction. I would not suggest doing this unless you are confident with working on mains voltage circuits!
At least it all worked when I put it back together, the mains circuitbreaker didn't open nor did I take a hit off strong voltage and the output voltage is correct raaa. I made a couple of slides showing how it all fits together (and an overview of how these power supplies work - many mobile phone and USB chargers use similar circuits)

Ego-Dissolution and Psychedelics: Validation of the Ego-Dissolution Inventory (EDI). "
[h=3]Abstract[/h][h=4]AIMS:[/h]The experience of a compromised sense of "self", termed ego-dissolution, is a key feature of the psychedelic experience. This study aimed to validate the Ego-Dissolution Inventory (EDI), a new 8-item self-report scale designed to measure ego-dissolution. Additionally, we aimed to investigate the specificity of the relationship between psychedelics and ego-dissolution.
[h=4]METHOD:[/h]Sixteen items relating to altered ego-consciousness were included in an internet questionnaire; eight relating to the experience of ego-dissolution (comprising the EDI), and eight relating to the antithetical experience of increased self-assuredness, termed ego-inflation. Items were rated using a visual analog scale. Participants answered the questionnaire for experiences with classical psychedelic drugs, cocaine and/or alcohol. They also answered the seven questions from the Mystical Experiences Questionnaire (MEQ) relating to the experience of unity with one's surroundings.
[h=4]RESULTS:[/h]Six hundred and ninety-one participants completed the questionnaire, providing data for 1828 drug experiences (1043 psychedelics, 377 cocaine, 408 alcohol). Exploratory factor analysis demonstrated that the eight EDI items loaded exclusively onto a single common factor, which was orthogonal to a second factor comprised of the items relating to ego-inflation (rho = -0.110), demonstrating discriminant validity. The EDI correlated strongly with the MEQ-derived measure of unitive experience (rho = 0.735), demonstrating convergent validity. EDI internal consistency was excellent (Cronbach's alpha 0.93). Three analyses confirmed the specificity of ego-dissolution for experiences occasioned by psychedelic drugs. Firstly, EDI score correlated with drug-dose for psychedelic drugs (rho = 0.371), but not for cocaine (rho = 0.115) or alcohol (rho = -0.055). Secondly, the linear regression line relating the subjective intensity of the experience to ego-dissolution was significantly steeper for psychedelics (unstandardized regression coefficient = 0.701) compared with cocaine (0.135) or alcohol (0.144). Ego-inflation, by contrast, was specifically associated with cocaine experiences. Finally, a binary Support Vector Machine classifier identified experiences occasioned by psychedelic drugs vs. cocaine or alcohol with over 85% accuracy using ratings of ego-dissolution and ego-inflation alone.
[h=4]CONCLUSION:[/h]Our results demonstrate the psychometric structure, internal consistency and construct validity of the EDI. Moreover, we demonstrate the close relationship between ego-dissolution and the psychedelic experience. The EDI will facilitate the study of the neuronal correlates of ego-dissolution, which is relevant for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and our understanding of psychosis."

Just recently my alcohol tolerance has sky rocketed probably because i drink quite a bit of recent times. Yesterday i drank 7 pints fairly quickly and i wasn't sober but i wasn't drunk! booooo :cry:12…56
MY : Malaysia "secretly" stops death penalty for drugs offences Not sure if this is as much of a secret as the mostly Western harm reduction websites make out - although Kuala Lumpur has not officially announced its abolition, what actually happens (I have noticed this for a few years now) is folk who are unfortunate enough to get caught seem to all get charged with amounts which are literally 5-10 miligrams just below the "compulsory death penalty" trigger amounts, and therefore get a combination of prison sentences + compulsory rehab (this last is slowly being replaced with "European style" voluntary rehab clinics)
MY does not appear to have executed anybody for drugs offences for some years, SG and ID stopped use of the death penalty in the mid 2000s as an experiment (unfortunately ID has reintroduced it recently and is giving mixed messages about whether or not it is considered as a suitable method there).
At the same time MY does not want to end up as a "drugs tourist" destination nor have half of the Phillipines all turning up at the borders (consider what has happened here in Europe following war in the Middle East), so are playing it safe at the moment...
