usually it is fairly difficult to die as a result of GHB on its own, but still quite possible. if you take a dose that is about 3 to 4 times as high as your standard dose you could die because you simply stop breathing or just choking on your own vomit (passing out first in both cases). most times when you take a bit too much though you will simply pass out and come to in about 4-5 hours.
mixed with alcohol it’s a lot easier (i mean A LOT) to pass out and have that happen to you.
one of the early times i tried it i had an amazing time (about 3-4 grams with some cocaine) almost like one of my first mdma experiences.
however at a later date i had about 4-5 grams, having also had 1 shot of tequila and 2 bottles of beer that night… basically ended up puking everywhere and having some serious memory loss. had to be carried home not knowing where i was. the strange thing is i woke up at about 7 am (5 hours after the trouble started) without much of a hangover at all.
—> very interesting but dangerous substance!
ps: gbl is almost exactly the same as ghb although maybe a little worse for your intestinal tract
edit: forgot to say, in theory if they are sleeping it should be ok because you can go to sleep very easily on it without being in danger (some people actually take it to go to sleep, which i have done on occasion) but if you think they have done a lot or have mixed it with alcohol (even a small amount), then it definitely might be worth making sure they are breathing.
