i actually work alot of hours so many its rediculious i dont have to but i find myself
over and over going through the same process,I call it eyes wide shut i would like
to relax and sleep but my mind races at about 150 miles an hour making it impossible
to sleep now bcause of my profession i have talked to many people who are on ambien
an i would love to see if it would help BUT I keep hearing about the side effect it kinda scares
me plus i have a very very addictive personality and worst then the side effect is the stories of getting off
. Soi have decided this week to try somthing knew i dont know what yet but something i tried a youtube video

Hello and welcome to Party Vibe. Unfortunately there is no nutshell advice to be given regarding insomnia as each individual’s reason for insomnia is different. Although it generally stems from stress and anxiety (a current problem), depression (often but not always caused by a problem from the past which hasn’t been properly resolved), improper eating (e.g. too much sugar prior to wanting to sleep), over stimulation (e.g. watching a fast paced TV program/playing games console or challenged by employment or educational work) or a natural chemical imbalance in the brain (e.g. lack of melatonin production). If this is a recently occurring problem for you I imagine it’ll be over stimulation/anxiety regarding your working hours. Go to the doc’s and explain the problems your experiencing. If you opt for the meds route the trick is too frequently (every 2 weeks or so but really is dependent on the specific medication) change so your body doesn’t have time to become reliant on any particular med and to reduce the chance of a tolerance developing. Hope this information is of use to you.

Yay! Got meself another sticky thread

Took your time with this one mods lol

Thank you for the advice i will take it under consideration. The problem with sleep aids is that because of my job i have them in adoundence and because of my personality
i hesitate i dont wanna end up my own customer if you get my drift..stuff if expencive..:sick_toot

If you don’t trust yourself with the meds then I’d still talk to the doctor about it and maybe seek alternative routes such as meditation. Really though you need to know the cause before the correct method for managing sleep can be implemented. I personally wanted to avoid medication but it turned out I had little choice as I have a chemical imbalance so for me it’s a case of giving my body the additional chemicals it’s not producing enough of and inducing sleep that way, not that it always works but it’s the best for me atm.

I thought about meditation i think i suffer from ADHD or i just cant focus on one subject but there was 1 video on you tube that i cant find for the life of me
it was sounds of the beach and natural noices or something of that effect but it put me down for 10 hrs straight i felt completely relax

Ok I’m just making guesses now but I’m thinking your probs in your early to mid 30s? My reason for this thinking is you seem to have recently become a pharmacist and I don’t see how this could be achieved before 25ish due to the level of training and qualifications required. Although the system may be completely different in the states, I’m talking from a UK perspective. And I doubt you’ll be much older as I’m thinking you’d have already experienced and dealt with the issue. Although any individual of any age can suffer from insomnia to experience it for the first time at middle age is unusual unless you have a kid or similar disruption in your life.

As you say therapeutic sounds and music can help a chemical imbalance can probably be ruled out and that includes ADHD. Again guesses but if I had to say given the information you’ve provided I’d put it down to work related stress or over stimulation. I’d think this even more so if you work late/start early.

It’s too early. i got 2 hours sleep last night :hopeless:

Only had a few hours sleep last night but feeling surprisingly replenished. Nitrazepam did the trick.

They do do the trick mate, but be careful with them things, addiction kicks in very quickly. (like less than 4 weeks if you’re taking em every day, that kinda quickly)

Thanks for the warning but I’ll be fine. They’re doc prescribed and I’m using them for their intended use, to aid sleep. Don’t think they’d have much recreational use anyway, too heavy on the muscle relaxing side. Was crawling to bed last night cos my legs had turned to jelly lol.

I binged the fuck out of benzodiazepines in the past. I mean like literally hundreds over the coarse of a few weeks. Done that I few times although a couple years ago. Never developed any form of addiction though. No withdrawal symptoms at all when I abruptly stopped.

Cool man, that’s good to hear. Just thought I’d pass on the info cos a mate of mine was put on em last year, taking 1 a day for 4 weeks, missed out the 29th day and was clucking like fuck by the 30th – didn’t want the same thing happening to you dude.

It doesn’t surprise me. A few of my former friends who were boshing them with me developed addictions and found it really difficult to come off them. Maybe my unnaturally high metabolism has something to do with it? These Nitrazepam have a 40hour+ half life yet I take twice recommended dose, have 4 hours sleep and spring out of bed fresh as daisies. And for me to wake up feeling so replenished especially after 4hours sleep is a rarity.
