Not as of yet no. I was watching a program about it and they nicked loads of people who didnt pass the test, but EVERY case was thrown out of court.

It is gettin used more now-a-days though so might be a bit more forceable. Anyway in my opinion its a load of bollox. Just because you dont pass the test, it doesnt mean you are not fit to drive.

Police have long suspected that many motorists who would not drink and drive, for fear of being breathalysed, are willing to take drugs because they believe that there is little chance of being caught.

I dont think thats the main reason why some people choose drug driving over drink driving though…

There is a large difference when it comes to things like vision, reaction times and decision making, between being drunk and say being pilled up… its not all down to a lesser chance of being caught out…

well if you are at a rave n drivin, or at a club even, a lot of the time you don’t want to remain completely sober, n many drugs are safer with drivin than booze is

It does make me laugh how a lot of people get on the moral highground about drink driving yet are quite willing to get into a car after taking drugs !

In my book both are as bad as each other ..

what? your friends drive their kids around in stolen cars while high on speed? didnt think you hung around those types….

i regularly get lifts back from raves from people who are still on MDMA and just around the place from people who are stoned. i dont have any complaints. i think the worst drug of all time for driving on is acohol, cos unlike the other two i mentioned, it does not raise awareness, only depletes it.

I would never ever get in a car with anyone on MDMA. Fuckin no way. That is absolute madness.

Are you implying MDMA raises awareness??

I have had lifts loads of times from people on MDMA and they have never been a problem, seem to be quite able to drive

ive been in the car quite a few times when my mate has drove fucked on pills, to be fair he did drive like a fuckin maniac but it just didnt bother me, but then again i was under the influence as well

yeah totally agree, only been to two raves, and one where the driver rach was on MD and one when she wasnt. i wasnt scared on either, altho her driving when she was clean was more sketchy, and dodgy, altho it did seem like loads of the ppl driving around were psychos that morning:hopeless:

I would never EVER get into a car with someone on MDMA. I’ve seen too many people on MDMA space out / go into trances and just not have a clue where they are or what they are doing. Im sure if everyone else has also??

If so then why would you get into a motor with someone fucked on that stuff. No thanks.

Are people condoning drug driving here? Do you seriously not see a problem with it?

I don’t think people are condoning it – but when I was younger I have been in cars with people who TBH were complete fucking maniacs and its only by luck we all got back in one piece.

And today I do get the impression that ravers are taking increasing risks due to everyone being stubborn – wider society refuses to accept any rave events in some areas (even legal ones) so they are often pushed further afield

as an example I now live in the Suffolk/North Essex region where both legal and illegal raves are heavily clamped down on – venues (legal or otherwise) near public transport (or places that would at least ensure people are driving shorter distances) have been locked down – but ravers, particularly the younger ones aren’t willing to just give up..

So those who have access to vehicles regularly drive to Norfolk (30-40 miles or more), SE England or the Midlands, and of course not everyone is going to be sober, plus they are gonna be driving back on a comedown with sleep deprivations etc (this can make people go in trances even when they havent’ done any drugs)

The risk is there and people know its there (indeed from what I have heard a fair few ravers have been killed or seriously injured driving to and from parties, and many more have been involved in at least one “rave-related RTC”) but people are still willing to take the risks, whilst the rest of society remains unwilling to back down and let raves happen closer to where the party people are…

last free party i went to, close to sheffield, there were ppl driving away out of the field and I saw OB drive after them, probably to pull them over further down the road…

this is from a French chap on the Network 23 boards

Just adding some info for france. We are seeing more and more salivary test so as to detect drugs at the end of freeparties. Police is taking everybody’s driving papers, and more and more big condamnation are pronouced. Repression is growing day after day.
