does anyone know if any thiefing went on this year .. and did you know about the security beating up and stealing from punters last year mmm ..

i robbed a pair of wellies off someones feet as they poked out a tent … turned out they were me brothers but hey i scored some wellies!

and the security were actually quite relaxed i feel 🙂

Were you at the same festival? I got completely turned over by the most militant security I’ve ever come across Sunday about 5.00am. They took some poppers off me which I had bought inside, and some scotch which I had inside a juice bottle. They completely missed the tequila I smuggled in on the Thursday though and all the drugs. It was also annoying how the organisers kept quiet about the fact you could bring beers in before 6.00pm on the Thursday.

The festival was wicked, even the mud made it a different experience. and big shout to the organisers for keeping most of the stages going under the circumstances. I just felt there was too much profiteering going on at the stalls and it’s definetly lost that original vibe from when they started. It’s great to see the scene going strong though, and all the amazing music, stages and lightshows. TBH the drugs were fucking great too. Certainly spoilt for choice all weekend. :bounce_fl

i thought there was amuch younger crowd this year .NEO RAVERS ! Fair play dressed like complete loonies .looked well odd to me BUT if i was 18 years old and off my tits i would probably be wearing a PLASTIC PIG HAT WITH BLUE LIGHT . Went into OVERKILL on saturday night mad as fuck ! Laughed my head off !
    that tree was EXCELLENT ( i want one !):bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl

oh and there was thieving going on . a Steward warned us on saturday morn people were robbed whilst asleep . we had five chairs nicked but got them back after wandering around and shouting a lot . our neighbors caught 3 lads entering their tent in daylight and sent them packing !:you_crazy

    EURGH!

I went to the Glade and I had the most amazing time :weee: What a party :bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fland the music was great too.

The security people were helpful, the stewards were great, the welfare tent did a sterling job and I am amazed at how well the festival organisers coped with the bloody awful weather they had. Hats off to all the people who worked there – a fantastic job in the circumstances.raaaraaaraaaraaa

Yes it was a little muddy [ok a lot muddy] and getting round the site was a struggle because of all the mud but the vibe was amazing :love::love:

For what I paid for my ticket I got spectacular value and a great infrastructure which coped with some of the worst weather seen in the area in many years.

In fact I think the people on-site were much better off than the local residents – we had clean water, emergency services already on site, generators and toilets which were not connected to the drains. Yes there was a lot of mud but everyone pitched in and helped out everyone else and me and my mates had a fantastic time.

I saw from newsreports I read after I got home that some people thought it should have been called off and all of us sent home….How precisely did they think they would have coped had the festival been closed and all of us sent out to fend for ourselves off the site? The main access gate was under waist deep water for several hours which meant all the cars were stranded on the site – so 8000 to 10000 people leaving the site on foot looking for somewhere to go? a serious nightmare in those weather conditions and it would have overwhelmed any emergency accomodation which was available locally…..with people who were far safer and better off on the site.

The organisers did a great job under adverse conditions and should be applauded for the achievement of getting the festival up and running if a little late and keeping it going under those conditions. raaaraaaraaaraaa Go the hardcore party organisers – keep up the good work.

Given the mess on site I doubt that they will make a great deal of money out of this years festival – the cleanup may take weeks and I am betting that they have a clause in their hire contract for the site which will mean they have to fix the worst affected bits of it so it looks nice again. Add to that the fact that as I left the site a lorry had slipped into a ditch and will likely have needed a crane to pull it back onto the hard standing plus a hundred other weather related expenses and any profit will be eroded pretty fast. Also the insurance premiums for the site will undoubtedly rise as well.

I will happily take the time to save up and shell out for a ticket again – it was cheap in light of the choice of music available and the Health and Safety implementation which was present. Had the party been free none of the organisation like loos and water would have been there and we would have been literally up shit creek without a paddle as the accesses to the site were flooded for hours :hopeless:

I will post up some pictures at some point of the water levels etc so you can see what they were up against if you werent there.

I would once again like to thank the organisers for the valiant efforts they made to keep the festival going – big gold stars to all the staff who worked there for staying cheerful under the appalling weather condition raaaraaaraaa

[think next time I will pack my wellies though ]

glad you all had a good one …how the hell did people manage to dance tho’….:crazy_diz dont tell me …upper body movement only…

Find a solid bit of ground [often with a certain amount of mud :groucho:] get settled and boogie away raaaraaaraaaraaa

Some were actually jumping up and down and lots of upper body movements were in evidence raaaraaaraaa

The crowds were all loving it :bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl at every stage I danced at – at one stage I went to the breaksday tent and couldnt get it cos it was so full raaaraaaraaa so we were dancing in the doorways :bounce_fl:bounce_fl as the music was so wicked

hats off to the glade crew. i can hardly imagine the level of work that goes into pulling off a festi like that

not only did they face up to every sort of nimby and legal labyrinth successfully… they had to cope with weather that saw large parts of england in total disaster and still delivered a huge party

i’m in the process of organising a small, 1 day, free festival in the city centre for about 3000 people right now and believe, that is some work the glade crew put in right there

respect to all people who make parties happen, especially in this age of “1 person is a trouble maker, 2 is a conspiracy, 3 is a potential riot”

what did you hear? that benny (of ben&lex) ended up playing a wicked 4 hour set on saturday afternoon?

check out some of the videos on southwestunderground.net

    it looks wicked 😎

1 wish i wish i had got there earlier on friday, and aswell i wish i had danced more and listened to more music, instead i went home to take my car back and i sat around the tent, smoking/drinking, i regret that the most:cry: , but to be honest i had a really good time anyway

    and april i was joking,love, i would if i was a little bit older:wink:

The security were nearly non-existant when I arrived on Sunday. Didnt even ask to see a passout ticket, writband or anything. I did notice them searching everyone coming in at 9pm Sunday after it finished which I guess was to stop people taking in booze after the bars closed.

anyone who complains about a party like that should go and complain to themselves, in a dark cupboard under the stairs

respect to ben & lex for keeping the act going when others weren’t able to make it through the flood waters and respect to all those who partied hard, whether they be posh, chav or just ravers  :group_hug

So the bars were closed but people were NOT allowed to take in booze? Where’s the logic in that? Is no drink allowed on site?
