I never did and never will agree with slogan ‘just say no’. But in this instance and from a 13 years of hell experience.

DON’T TRY IT. IT’S NASTY, NOT EVEN NICE AND VERY NEARLY DESTROYED MINE AND MY FAMILIES LIVES.:you_crazy

I tried it a few times made me feel sick and I didnt really like the buzz.A couple of friends who tried it around the same time liked it both are now dead.Just found out another mate is now addicted hope he dont go the same way.

I don’t usually like to ‘tell’ people to stay right away from a particular drug, but heroin falls into that category. Not so long ago I worked for an excellent charity called ‘Lifeline’ in Manchester. It basically comprised of a needle exchange and also offered a ‘one to one’ chat with skilled councellors. But its ‘forte’ was an excellent production of harm reduction leaflets and cartoons (featuring Peanut Pete). Now the three things that Lifeline impressed onto ‘drug users’ were

    No1. DON’T USE HEROIN
    No2. DON’T SMOKE CRACK
    No3. DON’T INJECT DRUGS

I’m not one for the ‘just say no’ campaign in the eighties, but when it comes down to this life wrecking, nasty piece of work called smack amongst other things, I would definitely say a resounding NO!

Other than the 3 things listed above, ‘harm reduction’ is the key.

Raj I’m an honest guy who doesn’t mind answering questions from people who don’t discriminate or prejudge so sorry I won’t answer to you. Only joking buddy:groucho: :groucho:

Basically after 3/4 years of taking XTC amongst other stimulants at clubs and raves in the early nineties, I found the ‘comedown’ increasingly more difficult to deal with. So benzos became my D.O.C. for the ‘comedown’ and then closely followed with the ‘odd toot on the foil’. This was practised by a large number of people (including friends) around this time, but I didn’t realise it at the time that I was becoming more dependable on it. Before long I was smoking heroin just to ward off the withdrawal symptons. And the rest they say is history! But I’ve been heroin+methadone clean now for 3 months on a subutex progamme of which I aim to be finished within 6 months (all going well).:bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl

    yikes:scared:
heroin is sneaky stuff though – so easy to think ‘ i can handle it’ and then get caught out before you realise it is happening:hopeless:

well done for cleaning up and staying that way raaaraaaraaa

My grandmother was a junkie and raised 5 kids alone in the 1930’s. A nicer lady you could not meet. 70 per cent of junkies are functional, have a job morgage etc. because it is illegal and therefore expensive causes most of the problems. Heroin is dirt cheap in real life. You cannot win the war on drugs, or as it should be called the war on plants. Doctors have a large per cent of narcotic users in their midst. They give you methadon to quit heroin and that drug is bad on your body. Heroin is actually fairly easy on your body. Humans seek drugs as part of their deep sense of exploration. You can become physically addicted after a weeks use. Something has to change with the war on drugs it cannot be won. Some countries heroin is legal, but their culture is different than ours, and they don’t have a problem.
