  • Since there are so many guys on PV I may aswell ask 🙂
Anyway after having a joint outside I’ve pondered on something.

    why do guys stare?
example: on the Train home yesterday after a gig thing , this guy kept looking at me but when I looked back he turned away,
now this isn’t the first time this has happened.

I know it sounds stupid but I really don’t get why.
so guys and girls why do they keep staring ( no there’s not snot on my face etc I checked that already )

Ive wondered this too….I mean I think if they glance at you then they’re just glancing, but if they look at you a second time than they are attracted to you and want to see if you look at them a second time too to give them confirmation to approach you. If they’re STARING then…they either think you’re cute/pretty/sexy or you look like you came from the 80s lol so unless you’re dressed in rediculous clothes with clown makeup Im sure they are looking because they like what they see!!! Just my opinion

    jail bait

People have different stares. Some are hostile. Some are kind of puppy eyed.

You get better at noticing the difference, and it doesn’t take you very long to realise you have a sort of “radar” to being started at.

It’s kind of useful, you can use your own stare to “ping” other people and get their attention.

When you’re a teenager, it’s very much “oh no, I’m being noticed”. With a bit of confidance and understanding, it doesn’t get quite so much of a big deal.

Sometimes it is a cultural thing. In my experience in northern european/american culture it is quite rude to stare, while in Latin America it is not seen as so “invasive,” unless it goes on for a really long time.

Otherwise, maybe they like what they see. In any case, you shouldn’t be too bothered. This kind of thing only becomes a problem if you make it one (unless they have bad intent, but you can normally sense such things. Just be slightly on your guard of course.)

Haha yeah I know what you mean, guys are shy, they don’t want to look stupid approaching a beautiful girl so they stare to see if the girl gives them the “look” and then if she smiles then that’s definitely a plus! Ive learned that they are more scared of talking to us then we are talking to them! Which I never knew when I was younger

    never noticed myself *feels ugly*

I reckon this answer has just hit the nail on the head.

Most guys find it really hard (myself included!) to approach a girl without being under some sort of influence. Even if a guy pretty much knows your staring back, unless he is certain you are interested he will find it hard to approach you.

Think about the flip side of it, imagine going up to a guy in public and them rejecting you? Our brains have a pretty good defence mechanism and will constantly try to steer you away from situations that are away from your norm.

Because girls look nice why else? lol… i’d rather look at a girl than a fucking lamp post.

Assuming that you are attrative, look at it this way.

If you see a beautiful sunset do you snatch a glance at it and that is enough or do you get the urge to really look at it to fully appreciate it’s beauty and splendour?

I find people stare too and i was brought up that starings rude so i hate it with a passion, especially as i usually have some kind of problem with myself before i left the house like i got a zit or i think my clothes look bad because things are in the dirty laundry
