  • Forget the fags, it’s the sneaky joint at a club or gig that I’m gona miss…:crazy_diz

Cigarettes are one of the biggest killers ever, it may be doing some people a favour by bringing in the ban.

Right from a scottish smokers point of view!!

The ban is actually ok… right yes u go to a gig say something at the SECC but see if you cant smell smoke or are too busy enjoying urself you dont actually want one.

Clubs have outside areas where you can go and have a fag ( I think legally they have to provide for the smokers) ..yes is a Q most of the time but hey again no smelly no wanty!!. There are more bouncers outside just incase trouble brews plus incase people try and sneak in through that way plus your hand gets stamped saying you been through the smoking area and they check it in and out!

The way I see it is I go out I dont spend as much as not buying so many fags plus dancing away I dont need to worry about being burnt or burning someone else!

Up here they have employed Smoking police that parade round gigs looking for people having a sly one and if they find u … get kicked out ( not worth hassle for a quick one).

Most pubs have a covered area too so you can sit outside or stand and have a smoke….

Really when it started here I was not sure about it but you get used to it really quickly and dont stress about it!

I did have 1 guy walk past me one lunch time and went should not be smoking here!! Was out on street .. just said to him is legal on street you dont like it then they should stop selling them which basically cant really do ..

As long as u are in a place with more than 50% open air u can smoke is not too hard to stick to but have to admit has stopped me going to pubs as much as I used to .. is the thing drink in you want to smoke more!! Pubs are suffering but hey all they need to do is out a canopy up outside for the smokers and should be ok works here!!

Not going to be as bad in England as up here so I have read! Dont stress u will get used to it:group_hug :group_hug Hope this helps

    Thanx for that …raaa

life is the biggest killer ever. should we ban it?:groucho:

The worst thing about the smoking ban is

The smell of peoples farts and BO.

seriously i went into a toilet a few months ago in a club and nearly spewed my load because of the smell, normally the smell of the tobacco would mask these other smells.

I was reading this somewhere but they it was about the actual clubs and bars not the loo’s.Also they were saying the that they are having to put automatic air freshners like you get in the loo’s to hide the smell as they were fearing it would stop people visiting these places. :yakk:

My local club is dirty and smelly as it is… gonna be fookin wrong when you cant smoke in there :hopeless:

I decided to stop last year knowing the ban was coming –
as I needed it to be my decision –
as am still a rebellious teen when it comes to being told I cant do things I want

I smoked for approx 15 years and thought I loved my fags –

have turned into one of those irritating ex- smokers but living with a 40 a day smoker it has been hard not to ‘give in’ when stressed and narked off – hence its more of a self preservation type thing

I am mixed about the ban – will like going out and not being in a fog of cigarettes but also not sure about how far the gov should go to enforce these rules – ESP when the house of commons bar is to remain smoking as it is the ‘queens’ property therefore not governed by our public rules!! C***s :hopeless:

    whats next?

    ive stopped too..doing good ….

Thanks for that Glo, nice to see the reference behind it.

Those fugures are shocking, but we must bare in mind that Calor gas are in the buisness of increasing their profits and that is obviously the sub-text in their report. Plus nobody stands next to a busy road for 24 hours a day like their testing gizmos.

My father in law likes to quote a smoking statistic…..”100% of people…die” ( he can hardly walk up a set of stairs without puking his stomach up :-()

U are most welcome babes hope it helped anything else I can explain just ask… satyr is right though farts and BO are killers now all shapes smells sizes are shocking!!! :yakk: :yakk: :yakk: :yakk: :yakk:

my village has fuck all but a real great pub with a decent community, the whole village gathers there for new years etc. real good… and most of the customers smoke. the landlord is really worried as already a few have said they will stay at home, and losin regulars is a big blow to a small pub!

i have no problem with some pubs having tap sides …where people can smoke an its shut off ..if people dont want to inhale it they dont go in …simple .

It does amuse me when non smokers say oh it kills you it should be banned fair point is does kill people but with that as your reasoning shouldn’t alcohol be banned also ?

I am a smoker an not to bothered by the ban but i do wonder if it’s the start on a slippery slope, we are far to over controlled as it is what will things be like in another 20 years !
