On a side note the active compoments are ibotenic acid & muscimol too much ibotenic acid can cause convulsions, muscimol is excreted unchanged in the urine, In fact I have read of shamans feeding these to reindeers and drinking the urine..Yummy.

Be VERY VERY carefull with these ones, they could send one to a strange place for 12+ hours.

No they will be fine as long as they have been kept dry.

No never ever put mushrooms in boiling water as it rapidly destroys the active susbstances, with shrooms heat = potency loss

never use boiling water only lukewarm for tea.

I have seen a set this year its the cool nights and the warm humid days, I left them be though as I don’t do drugs.

In fact liberty caps can and do grow all year but the conditions are perfect sep-nov.

This year will be my first time hunting and I’m pretty excited. It’s like a treasure hunt except the doubloons are replaced with tripping balls.

Where I used to live didn’t have any, and I didn’t even think of looking last year. I’ve heard it’s not really worth looking until the temp hits about 15C/10C at night, and even then only after it rains. I’ve heard firsthand that they definitely grow around here (Carlisle) and there’s plenty of places in the area I can dig about for them :crazy_dru

There should be plenty up there all them hills sheep and cows, perfect:wink:
make sure you nip em off rather than pull em up so you don’t disturb the roots and they keep coming back:wink:

That’s the plan! That and remembering to flick them all before you pick to help spread spores, except one to do a spore print for confirmation on shroomery.

Safe drug use means research 😉

well each season me and my fellow mushroom munching mates make a pretty delicous shroom brew, and we always boil the kettle, annnnnd we still get very very fucked!
boiling anything will instantly kill any bad bacteria, simple hygeine really. but its never made the mushrooms any weaker lol:crazy:

boiling water does in fact destroy the psychoactive substance. if you want to make tea do it at sub-boiling tempratures

Same here, always boil it up in a big pan.
gets us all seriosly tripping without little cow poo bug’s in the gob.
I do agree it will make it weaker but when you’ve got a carrier bag full it don’t matter.:wink:
