Help req Hey
I'm trying to dig up some live DJ sets from early 90s, old school rave. Trouble is i can't remember the name of the DJ.. or anything as i last heard that stuff back in the early 90s. Probably the sets were done in the UK. I'm thinking it likely includes Sasha and Jumping Jack Frost. I just don't know where to start.
I remember some of the sets contained 'piano' sections with occasional female vocals. Does anybody know if this is any specific "type" of rave music?
Sorry not much info to go on.

Oral Sex Linked To Throat Cancer A virus contracted through oral sex is the cause of some throat cancers, say US scientists.
HPV infection was found to be a much stronger risk factor than tobacco or alcohol use, the Johns Hopkins University study of 300 people found.
The New England Journal of Medicine study said the risk was almost nine times higher for people who reported oral sex with more than six partners. But experts said a larger study was needed to confirm the findings.
HPV infection is the cause of the majority of cervical cancers, and 80% of sexually active women can expect to have an HPV infection at some point in their lives.
The John Hopkins study took blood and saliva from 100 men and women newly diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer which affects the throat, tonsils and back of the tongue.
They also asked questions about sex practices and other risk factors for the disease, such as family history.
Those who had evidence of prior oral HPV infection had a 32-fold increased risk of throat cancer.
HPV16 - one of the most common cancer-causing strains of the virus - was present in the tumours of 72% of cancer patients in the study.
Risk factors
There was no added risk for people infected with HPV who also smoked and drank alcohol, suggesting the virus itself is driving the risk of the cancer.
Oral sex was said to be the main mode of transmission of HPV but the researchers said mouth-to-mouth transmission, for example through kissing, could not be ruled out.
Most HPV infections clear with little or no symptoms but a small percentage of people who acquired high-risk strains may develop a cancer, the researchers added.
Study author Dr Gypsyamber D'Souza said: "It is important for health care providers to know that people without the traditional risk factors of tobacco and alcohol use can nevertheless be at risk of oropharyngeal cancer."
Co-researcher Dr Maura Gillison said previous research by the team had suggested there was a strong link.
But she added: "People should be reassured that oropharyngeal cancer is relatively uncommon and the overwhelming majority of people with an oral HPV infection probably will not get throat cancer."
A vaccine which protects against cervical cancer caused by HPV strains 6, 11, 16 and 18, and also against genital warts is available and the researchers said the study provided a rationale for vaccinating both girls and boys.
But whether the vaccine would protect against oral HPV infection is not yet known. Dr Julie Sharp, science information officer at Cancer Research UK, said: "There is conflicting evidence about the role of HPV, and this rare type of mouth cancer. "As this was a small study, further research is needed to confirm these observations."
"We know that after age, the main causes of mouth cancer are smoking or chewing tobacco or betel nut, and drinking too much alcohol."
:you_crazy What next? Maybe its unhealthy to work :groucho: I can wish

Beating stress! Stress may be considered as any physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and that may be a factor in disease causation. Physical and chemical factors that can cause stress include trauma, infections, toxins, illness, and injuries of any sort.
Avoid These Ten Stress Pitfalls
These traps can wreck any stress control plan.
Be on the lookout for the following common stress pitfalls, which can sabotage your stress management plan:
1) Skipping Meals
Skipping meals on the run is a common practice among stressed individuals. While it may seem harmless enough, skipping regular meals actually can increase both short-term and long-term stress levels.
In the short term, neglecting to eat regularly can lead to episodes of hypoglycemia as well as hunger pangs and headaches, all of which can provoke aggression, anxiety, and increased stress. In the long run, missing meals results in a vicious cycle of poor nutrition, increased susceptibility to infections and other illnesses, and even further stress.
2) People-Pleasing
Trying to make everyone else happy at the expense of your own needs can be a major stress-inducer. Whether it be due to spouses, friends, kids, coworkers, or parents, many people wind up with impossible schedules and epic to-do lists because they have a built-in need to please others or an inability to refuse requests. While accommodating others' wishes and needs is fine to an extent, be sure you are able to reserve enough time and energy for your own well-being, even if it means saying 'no' more often.
3) Poor Organization Skills
A poorly organized home, desk, office, or even closet can cost time and energy that can better be used elsewhere. The few hours needed to effectively restore order to your chaos are well worth the investment - in addition to all the time you'll save by not searching endlessly for needed items, you'll save aggravation and frustration and ultimately reduce your day-to-day stress.
4) Road Rage
This relatively recent phenomenon is a definite stress management pitfall. Bolstered by the anonymity of traffic situations, many people vent their anger and frustration through aggressive driving practices or even downright dangerous traffic maneuvers. In most cases of road rage, no one feels vindicated and everyone suffers - a true lose-lose situation. Try to accept the fact that some people drive rudely or aggressively, and resist the temptation to "teach them a lesson." In the best case scenario, road rage causes you to arrive stressed and angry at your destination. In the worst case, you're risking tickets, fines, auto damage, or even your safety.
5) Self-medication
It's a known fact - persons under stress drink more, smoke more, and are more likely to engage in unhealthy behaviors such as drug use than nonstressed individuals. While people justify these actions as releases or escapes from day-to-day stress, "treating" yourself with substances such as alcohol, tobacco, or drugs is an unhealthy and dangerous practice guaranteed to sabotage your efforts to control stress. Our bodies and minds are not independent entities; damage to your physical health only increases your potential for mental stress and poor functioning. 6) Blaming Others
While the behaviors of family, coworkers, and even strangers can contribute to your high stress levels, only you can take responsibility for managing and controlling your stress. Realize that the degree of stress you experience is largely due to your own reactions to the situations around you. Blaming others for your stress is a defeatist tactic that absolves you of any responsibility or ability to change. If your stress is out of control, only you can act to improve things.
7) Junk Food
Similar to skipping meals, subsisting on junk food while on the run can have short- and long-term health consequences that ultimately only increase your stress levels. Fast food, typically rich in fat, sodium, and calories, eaten regularly can lead to elevated cholesterol, weight gain, increased cancer risk, and other medical problems.
If you have no time to cook or eat regular meals, make the things you do eat count by choosing vitamin- and fiber-rich takeout offerings (salads, yogurt, fruits) instead of fat and calories.
8) Martyrdom
While some people are constantly striving to please others at their own expense, some folks simply aren't able to recognize and meet their own emotional needs for a variety of reasons. Stress can ensue if you're constantly denying yourself things you need or would enjoy because there is no time, they are too expensive, others need them more, or you feel you are just not worth it. Try to achieve a healthy balance between your own needs and those of others, and make time for relaxation and rejuvenation a regular part of your schedule.
9) The Need to Win Arguments
Learn to argue and discuss without the need to convince everyone that your opinions are the only correct ones. Conflict is a regular part of life, and your reactions to conflict can influence your stress level. Trying to convince stubborn people to change their views or win everyone over to your side can be emotionally draining and anxiety provoking. Accept the fact that arguments need not have "winners" and don't bottle up anger trying to prove something to an unreceptive audience.
10) Comparing Yourself with Others
A last way to guarantee a high stress level is to compare yourself with everyone else. Although you may find instances where you'll come out on top, everyone can find someone who appears, at least outwardly, to be more successful, happier, richer, better adjusted, or to possess whatever quality you find wanting in yourself. Set your own goals based upon what you want and need, and don't use others' lives as benchmarks.

A "sweet" story Mr Cadbury and Miss Rowntree met on a Double Decker, it was After Eight. She was from Quality Street, he was a Fisherman's Friend.
On the way they stopped at a Yorkie Bar, he had a Rum and raisin , she had a Wine Gum.
He asked her name, "Polo, I'm the one with the hole" she said. "I'm the one with the nuts," he thought! Then he touched her Milky Way. They checked in to a hotel, and went straight to the bedroom. Mr Cadbury turned out the light for a bit of Black Magic.
It wasn't long before he slipped his hand into her Snickers and felt her Cream Egg. He fondled her Flap Jacks then he showed her his Curly Wurly and Tic Tacs. Miss Rowntree wasn't keen to have any Jelly Babies, so she let him take a trip down Bourneville Boulevard via her Party Ring.
He was quite pleased as he always fancied a bit of Fudge. It was a magic moment as she let out a scream of Turkish Delight.
When he pulled out, his fun size Mars Bar felt a bit Crunchie. She wanted more, but he needed Time Out, however, he noticed her Pink Wafers looked very appetizing.
He did a Twirl, had a Picnic in her Sherbet Dip and finished off by giving her a Gob Stopper!
Unfortunately, Mr Cadbury then had to go home to his wife, Caramel. Sadly he was soon to discover he had VD. It turned out Miss Rowntree had been with Bertie Basset who apparently had Allsorts!!!

Presenting…
RENE AMESZ, PETER GELDERBLOM AND JAIMIE FANATIC ALL UK EXCLUSIVE!
We welcome you our friends to the world of MAXIMAL!
It’s been 8 months since we launched our brand new concept at the world famous Key club in September 2006. Our goal was to create the most exciting and most talked about party in London! No easy task when there are hundreds of clubs nights launching every weekend claiming to be portals of pleasure beyond measure! But like Mars Bar’s tag line, they offer a lot of promise but little substance. Forget the shiny marketing or glitzy PR, the most important ingredients of any party are three things The Music, The People and The Venue.
We were baptised in the underground of this industry. From the beginning we have built the night strictly through word of mouth, friends of friends and mates of mates, we wanted a crowd of like minded people all under one roof dancing dusk till dawn to the best music by the best DJs from across the globe. Call us keeping it real, or by the clubbers for the clubbers, call it whatever you like, the fact of the matter is the atmosphere of any club is down to you.
We pride ourselves on the fact that until now we have never printed a single flyer or splattered your favourite websites with banner adverts, yet we are one of the most in demand events on the calendar, not that we want to shout about it or anything, we just thought you’d like to know. ;)
Since 2006 we’ve watched with mighty grins on our faces as over 6,000 party pilgrims rush through the doors to help us smash the Key, tear The Cross to pieces, blow the roof off of The Whitehouse and shake the foundations of Thirst and the Medicine bar.
We are not here to pimp your club night, or make you a thousand clichéd promises, we are hear to deliver top DJs, better clubbers and awesome venues.
The age of minimal is over… this summer is Maximal and we know you’re with us!
Anyway, enough blurb – back to the music! Maximal is proud to bring you a UK exclusive in the form of the Dutch production powerhouse of Rene Amesz & Peter Gelderblom together on the same line-up in this country for the very first time! Their phat, inimitable, electro-laced tribal sound has seen them remix and produce tracks for the likes of Cr2, Toolroom and Little Mountain Recordings, with their filthy remixes of Faithless’ ‘Insomnia’ and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘By The Way’ redefining the term “big room sound”. Chunky beats, euphoric riffs and huge build-ups – a sound that is guaranteed to rip any dancefloor apart. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

CRAVE.. the best free party in Nottingham CRAVE is a rave in some caves by a lake. It runs all night whenever the weather's right with a mix of breakbeat, psytrance and, possibly at the next one, a bit of drum & bass. For further info, check out the website: http://www.cravepresents.co.uk
UK : Scot : Election results and the future so what does it all mean now that the SNP are the largest party in Scotland? I saw on the news today they have formed a deal with the Greens which sounds good, but interested to know what all the Scots on here think..

UK : East : bebo page creates security risk http://ravesnorfolk.bebo.com/
this is a horrendous leak of info, rig names and all sorts there
the annoying thing is that this is happening because we and even SJ are clamping down, the kids are just setting up bebo sites as they think there is "more free speech"
