Cool radio station about drugs Some might of heard of it but if not check it out, it's wicked. It's called Dope Fiend and they just talk about weed and stuff. My fave show on there is Psychonautica and talk about psychedelics like Acid, DMT, and Salvia etc.

It would be cool if PV had a podcast where we talk about raves and everything to do with it.

Myspace parties cause chaos

The danger of MySpace turning teenage parties into apocalyptic gatecrasher magnets has had parents scratching their heads. But even with security guards, wristbands, and a strict guest-list a party can still end in carnage, writes Monica Fuller in our reader's column.
One neighbour will not talk to me since the party. The fact is that what happened outside the party was not in our control. MSN and Myspace sends out messages at the speed of light about where a 'good' party is being held and so they storm the gates.
What of their parents though? Where do they think their 16 and 17-year-old children are? One parent dropped off four boys aged 16-17 and one was wasted with alcohol, and they were not on the list. Just dropped and left with no knowledge of their safety.

UK : East : Local news report about some of the weekends raves Taken from the East Anglian Daily Times (Archant)

TBH it seems that the cops are being fairly pragmatic, but its the locals who are whinging.
That Woodbridge area "rave" was clearly a wake for the unfortunate traveller chap who was killed recently after he crashed his motorbike.
The travellers in that area are otherwise so quiet few people notice them - IMO the cops did the right thing and left them to carry on with it (although maybe they should have at least been honest with the moaning old bat about not being able to do anything)
As for the other Thetford one, even with a large stack the noise cannot actually be heard outside that area!

Concern over policing of 'rave' party
30 April 2007 | 08:31
DANIELLE NUTTALL
CONCERNS were raised last night over the police's handling of a “rave-type” party in the Suffolk countryside which continued throughout the weekend.
Suffolk Constabulary was inundated with complaints about loud music coming from a travellers' site at Sutton Heath, near Woodbridge, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The party, which is believed to have been a wake, continued until 8am on Saturday and started up again at 9.30pm that evening.
It came on the same weekend as revellers gathered for an illegal rave on the Suffolk-Norfolk border at Thetford Forest.
After the initial disturbance on Saturday, officers received further complaints about “rave-type music” from residents living in the Woodbridge and Melton area shortly after midnight yesterday and launched the police helicopter to assess the situation.
A group of between 40 to 50 people, vehicles and two camp fires were seen and officers liaised with Suffolk Coastal District Council's environmental health team.
The party continued throughout the night and was still going on yesterday afternoon.
The force made a decision in the early hours of yesterday not to divert resources from other towns to break up the event because it said policing activity around pubs and clubs was a priority.
But disappointment was expressed last night over the lack of communication to residents about what was happening.
Christine Block, who represents the Sutton ward on the district council, said the event was fairly low-key compared to the rave which occurred two years ago at Ramsholt, near Woodbridge.
But she added: “I'm fairly disappointed the police haven't actually been on site.
“Information from the police would have been very helpful indeed, even if they did not see the necessity to break the rave up or to manage traffic.
“The police helicopter was up but you cannot judge noise from the helicopter. I have heard nothing from the police as the local district councillor.”
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the force had liaised with the district council which had sent out environmental officers to monitor the situation throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, a group of revellers were “hostile” and sat on a police car as officers attempted to disrupt an illegal rave in woodland on the Suffolk-Norfolk border.
Police were called in the early hours of yesterday morning following reports of a gathering of between 150 and 200 vehicles in the Thetford Forest area.
Officers from Suffolk police were dispatched at about 1.15am to find an illegal party at woodland at Euston, near Thetford.
However, when officers tried to block off access to the site, off Rushford Road, they faced an angry crowd of 20 partygoers, who surrounded a police car and sat on it.
A Suffolk police spokesman said they would be attempting to identify and prosecute the people involved in the fracas and officers conducted alcohol breath tests and drug tests on drivers leaving the forest track.
“We tried to prevent vehicles from entering the site, but were met with hostility.
“Because of the level of hostility that was met in the middle of the night, it was not safe for our officers or the safety of the people attending to take any action.
“Also, we did not have many complaints from neighbours, so it was decided to monitor it from a safe distance.”
He added: “It is difficult to try to police something of that scale. The officers' safety is paramount and we will not send them where they are heavily outnumbered.”
The rave was wrapped up by midday yesterday with police making no arrests.
Earlier this year, Suffolk police agreed plans earlier this year to shave £30,000 off the budget by ceasing proactive policing of raves. It was among a string of necessary cuts to meet the Government's £1.5million efficiency savings target.

Cannabis ‘disrupts brain centre’ 2 pieces of research show changes in brain activity caused by THC and CBD (active ingredients in cannabis)
personally, i think common sense and experience would tell you that hydro is a pretty different thing to naturally grown weed... anyway, it's interesting to understand why>>>
Cannabis 'disrupts brain centre'
Scientists have shown how cannabis may trigger psychotic illnesses such as schizophrenia.
A King's College London team gave healthy volunteers the active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
They then recorded reduced activity in an area of the brain which keeps inappropriate thoughts at bay.
THC levels are thought to have doubled in street cannabis in recent years - at the expense of other ingredients which may have a beneficial effect.
A separate study has shown that one of these ingredients - cannabidiol (CBD) - has the potential to dampen down psychotic symptoms, and could form the basis of new treatments.
The research will be discussed at a conference on the impact of cannabis use to be held at the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College this week.
Dependency
Although figures are not kept, it is estimated that as many as 500,000 people in the UK may be dependent on cannabis.
Increasing numbers of people are seeking help for cannabis problems at specialist clinics. In 2005, only heroin users accounted for a greater proportion of patients.
Experts are concerned that street cannabis is becoming increasingly potent. It is thought that average THC content has risen from 6% to 12% in recent years.
The Institute of Psychiatry study gave THC, CBD or placebo capsules to adult male volunteers who had not abused cannabis.
They then carried out brain scans, and a battery of tests, and found that those who took THC showed reduced activity in an area of the brain called the inferior frontal cortex, which keeps inappropriate thoughts and behaviour, such as swearing and paranoia in check.
The effects were short-lived, but some people appeared more vulnerable than others.
In a second study, a team from Yale University administered THC intravenously.
Even at relatively low doses, they found 50% of healthy volunteers began to show symptoms of psychosis.
Volunteers who already had a history of psychotic symptoms appeared to be particularly vulnerable.
Side effects
A third study, by the University of Cologne, compared the effect of CBD and a commonly used anti-psychotic medicine, Amisulpride, on 42 patients with a history of schizophrenia.
After four weeks both groups showed a reduction in psychotic symptoms, but the CBD group were less prone to side effects, such as muscle stiffness and weight gain.
The researchers warned that THC and CBD compete with each other biochemically, so a rise in THC levels would blunt any positive impact of CBD.
Professor Robin Murray, a consultant psychiatrist at the Institute of Psychiatry, said the research provided the strongest evidence that cannabis had a significant impact on the brain.
He said proving a long-term effect was extremely difficult, as it was not ethical or feasible to stimulate long-term psychosis in volunteers.
However, he said: "If something has an active effect in inducing the symptoms of psychosis after one dose, then it would not be at all surprising if repeated use induced the chronic condition."
Professor Murray also warned that the high potency cannabis now widely available was likely to pose a much bigger risk to health than the significantly weaker formulations of previous years.
"It is similar to comparing the effect of drinking a glass of wine at the weekend with drinking a bottle of vodka every day."
Marjorie Wallace, of the mental health charity Sane, called the research a "significant contribution" to the understanding of the dangers of cannabis.
"Sane has been saying for years that there is a link between psychosis and the drug, particularly in its more potent forms.
"We strongly urge the government to heed the growing evidence and take urgent action to warn young people that some of them are risking lifelong mental illness - that they are playing Russian roulette with their minds."

norfolk multiriggaaa anyone go? had a well good time, 5rigs and the beach  bit sun burnt but its all good, fat party. p.s do ppl ever actually review parties here? or go to them....
more evidence of internet being used to bust party people This is from truet on SJ, a girl who lives in East Anglia
yeah but its not just this time is it,
all the time people are on here saying where you at this rigs party at the weekend, etc and then when that rig gets bust, they have 'proof' off a website that the said rig also done this party and that party.
n its also a bit silly people saying 'oh yeah im part of this rig (eh-hem TREEHOUSE:Lee) cos then if they wanted to they could link where the computer the poster is using is registered too and go bust it for evidence.
thats what happened with thetford 3-dayer last year, ended up bustin my mate for post pics on the internet n ened up with a search warrant at MY MUMS house!!
all becuase people dont watch what they post / say on the internet, and alot on SJ

Trouble with DMT Visions Greetings,
I have recently tried smoking dmt and have had good results. But no visuals. My friend has had visions off of the same batch but no machine elves. I have seen the room like it was painted but nothing like hyperspace or any realms. I have even done a 40-50mg blast. Is it normal to have a high tolerence?

would you describe yourself as hedonistic? personally i would say i have a hedonistic personality, but not extremely reckless hedonism (although sometimes not entirely sensible hedonism either :groucho: )
i'm predicting most if not all ravers would call themselves hedonistic - is this the case?
