Bombers strike again! I was just wondering how long it will take Dr. Bunsen or anyone else for that matter to come up with a 'conspiracy theory' as to why 163 (and counting) innocent Indian people were blown to smithereens in Mumbai yesterday?:you_crazy
These were coordinated attacks at peak time to cause maximum fatalities.
Long live Mother India!
Drivers : Are fuel/motoring costs/new laws putting you off raving? I don't drive at the moment but am planning to do so in the next two years; (more for work than leisure TBH, I don't even like cars and car culture all that much any more) [1] and in doing so I've realised how fucking expensive the whole malarkey is.
I reckon most people invest a good few hundred quid just to get their license; then you get your car and insurance, MOT, VED (tax) etc.... several grand spent...
But driving to raves nowadays seems to involve a 100-200 mile round trip as a lot of more local venues have been caned and the cops no longer let events happen; must be quite hard on your car especially driving up tracks etc...
Worse still, new laws seem to mean you could potentially lose your driving license for being involved with illegal raves- not seen a test case yet but the law is there apparently)...
Petrol is far from cheap either, and a lot of ravers don't always seem to be able to find petrol money.
I'm increasingly finding the journeys to raves quite stressful just as a passenger; especially on the way back when everyone is tired/on a comedown etc....
OK I know there are people about who love driving (most of them seem to drive rig vans and have jobs like mechanic, courier etc) - fair play to them but I've also got the impression from posts on messageboards and peoples chat at raves that a lot of the drivers are taken for granted (i.e its difficult to get petrol money) and that some are less inclined to drive to increasingly distant raves and even if they do the "hidden costs" are worrying them (there's a nasty trend of vandalism and theft to cars at raves as well)
So what do the drivers think?

MDMA + Dioralyte Bit of advice -
I am not sure this is common knowledge amoungst folk but the little sachets of Dioralyte are a very good way of preventing the effects of the day after a night on e. It is a widely available very cheap sachet and when mixed into water provide a huge quantity of salts sugars and most importantly ions that combat the effects of dehydration. They flood the body with ickle nice things that make life heaps easier...the long version is that... Dehydration is a misnomer, the bodys heat is controlled in part by the quantity of interstitial fluids that contain in solution untold potassium and sodium ions. It is these ions that are used by each cell to run the sodium potassium pumps that move water molecules in and out of that cell. These are also the ions that are lost when pissing and sweating and other wet body functions. Dosing yourself with these ions will ensure that your body has to work a shitload less when trying to maintain its delicate mechanisms that keep you alive. Which is pretty much all everyone wants in the end. these sachets can be bought all over the place even in the odd petrol station and cost tuppence, litertally, the chemist down the road sells them at ten pence a sachet, stay away from the black currant flavour, euck...just say you have the runs and require them, these are the drugs they send in huge containers to the drought swept african states, it saves countless lives and perhaps one day yours.
Also imagine what ammo they would have against us after all the deaths from e stop.. which are nearly all cases of severe dehydration.. no more leah betts and way less hassle for recreational users, notice the kids that die are mostly the type that were in basildon night clubs drinking pint after pint of whatever shite the brewery is promoting down their throats and then munch a single solitary dubious pill only to keel over via a tear jerking coma right onto a first page headline grabber in the sun, E Virgin Murdered By Pill Freak... only to see undernath the papers "buy a weeks papers and get free booze" coupon.
The thing is no one else will take the time to look after us, we are an underclass however professional we are, they wont even let us buy testing kits, fuck em, do what you need to do to sweep the rug from under their feet, get fucking pie eyed and pasty faced and dance your arses off, weekend after weekend after weekend.

UK : East : Cops’ merger off, but forces still plan to co-operate.. Whilst this may mean the East of England "superforce" isn't going to happen; it does seem that adjoining police forces are increasingly going to work together to solve "cross-border" problems and/or pool resources to deal with them (their new comms system Airwave makes it very easy to communicate, and they have their own special intranet for exchanging info) rather than "passing the problem into another force area" which used to happen at raves in border regions.
This has obvious implications for certain activities in a certain forest...
Quote:
SUFFOLK chief constable Alastair McWhirter today welcomed the news that the force is not likely to merged with the neighbouring counties of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
Controversial proposals to reduce the number of police forces across the country are expected to be called off after forces and the government were unable to negotiate financial details surrounding the move.
Now Mr McWhirter said he hoped the force could put the debate behind it and star preparing for a different future.
And he hoped to see increased co-operation between county-based forces: “We would like to see more work on a regional basis.
“What has happened over the last few years is that the regional crime squads have been replaced by a national crime squad which has now become the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
“That deals with very major crime, but there is a need to co-ordinate between regional forces on other crimes as well as other operational matters.”
Mr McWhirter was frustrated that at present it was not possible to have a dedicated team of specialists dealing with regional matters.
He said: “Local authorities can set up organisations that cross boundaries - as police authorities we cannot do that. If people are working on regional issues they have to be employed by one authority or the other.
“Through ACPO (the Association of Chief Police Officers) we are talking to the government about that situation. It would be good to have that kind of structure without the need for a full merger.”
