X-Scream Would you ?? :omg_no: :omg_no: :omg_no:
X Scream is one scary experience, dangling thrill seekers hundreds of feet from earth.
Simply being perched atop the observation deck on the Stratosphere Tower, the eighth-tallest building in the world, is intimidating enough. But the one minute ride takes it a little bit further. The arm of X Scream stretches out 27 feet over the edge of the tower.
Passengers are loaded into an eight-seat car on the high-tech teeter-totter and hoisted high into the air before the track dives at a 30-degree angle, taking the car and your nerves with it.
After reaching speeds of 30 mph, the car jerks to a sudden halt at the end of the track, with nothing but 900 feet of air between you and the ground.
X Scream is a new generation of extreme thrill rides, playing on the passenger's primal fear of falling. However, passengers can find comfort in the ride's four independent locking mechanisms on each chair and titanium restraining bars. X Scream also has a manual return mechanism in case of power failure.
In any case, X Scream may just be the ultimate thrill ride in the world.

black bit of tarmac goes into a pub….. ...and orders a pint. in the back ground a red bit of tarmac is throwing a bar stool around and swearing at customers.
''sort him out wud ya'' asks the bar tender
''no way!'' replies the black tarmac, ''hes a cycle path''

Partying in licensed venues… whether we like it or not, the increasing clampdown on free parties and the need for crews to obtain funds to keep their rigs going is forcing events back into licensed venues...
if we want to rave these venues need to keep their licenses so the business risk to those involved in funding them and keeping them open is not unacceptable...
many people have become so used to having regular free parties they forget they are in a licensed venue, and the rules are different.
There has to be security as part of license conditions (often these security are deliberately selected from organisations unconnected to the venue owner) and any "questionable" activities cannot be carried out in full public view.
The Police (both uniform and detective ranks) can, and do, visit completely unannounced and inspect any area of the venue they wish, and can ask people for ID to prove their ages or to identify potential criminals or trouble makers. It is called a "licensing check" and is an integral part of the licensing process.
Venues which play any kind of urban music (including rave genres) are subjected to particular scrutiny with regards to drug use and violence / firearms-realated crime; this is a Government guideline for which we can thank the UK Garage "scene" as much as Tony Blair.
A current tactic in TVP area is to "persuade" licensed venue owners to allow sniffer dogs on the premises. Those who accept are praised by the cops, those who refuse are noted and treated as suspect venues and subject to further monitoring.
So if a venue is being a bit "lax" on its security, don't expect it to always be that way, and don't brag about what you can get away with on open parts of messageboards - or even in other venues where cops, anti-rave types or even the landlord (who can get brownie points from the cops and reduce competition by grassing up another venue) may be listening...
Save that sort of talk for round your friends houses or at free parties.
if the licensed venues disappear, thats the funding source for a lot of raves gone - anti-rave types would love to see this (and it has already happened in some areas), don't give them the satisfaction!
A Little Fatty spent a hot cool weekend on makeshift dancefloor on a farm in Devon :horay:
heard some pretty good live sets plus a couple of bands playing psychadelic folk & roll, or was that dub and bass? or was it acid country disco? :alien_abd
whatever it was, it was good to hear live
got a chance to catch up with some very good friends i don't see often enough, cemented some recent friendships and made some brand new ones
the rig performed well and after a few minor alterations on the hop it handled the techno, electro / techno, DnB, breaks excellently
was especially good cos we had our daughter with us. she loves loud basslines and dancing.
she didn't make a fuss at all about her earplugs going in before she was allowed near the rig and she slept peacefully plenty when she needed to:cloud9:
and she danced to my reggae breakfast set (best father's day present i could have asked for)
didn't get to take the long walk around the farm in the morning as we were running out of food and supplies for our little one (and champagne and cake for ourselves).. but the short walk was mind-blowing
loved watching the low hills emerge through the mist... and found about 20 different types of plant growing that you wouldn't normally expect to see growing in this country :surprised
got back to the city and ended up dancing salsa with a large straw hat on my head and massive old lady style sunglasses on in a packed square in town for the afternoon
all on a couple cups of coffee, a couple of beers and a possibly suspect cigarette. and some cake.

Dance Valley 2006 Dance Valley Festival 2006, “The Weekender”: presents the line up!
Purmerend, Holland, 23 March – The weekend of 14 till 16 July will be for many people the year’s coolest red-letter days: these three dates mark Holland’s only multi-day dance festival, being run for the second year in succession. This year’s Dance Valley The Weekender comes with an unbeatable line-up of 195 acts spread over the two festival days. News of the ultra-successful 2005 double offering flashed to all corners of the world, and from the reactions streaming in since then it’s clear that this next dance holiday weekend in Spaarnwoude is set to attract a mega-crowd. This is helped by a recent decision to reduce the weekend ticket price by 10 euros. This ticket covers two days of music and two nights’ stay at the festival. Also, to get the mega-crowd spinning, there’s nothing less than a mega-act on the Friday!
Dance Valley is proud to announce the appearance of the greatest act in the dance world – The Prodigy – on the Friday, with at least 90 minutes of stunning performance! Any dance fan knows that this British stage sensation guarantees a rave show that is going to keep the 15,000 campers bouncing on their air beds well into the night.
On Friday, there will be nine theme areas: Hard Area, Eurogrooves, In-Tec, Loveland, Club, Chill, Entrance, Electronation and Silent Disco. For anyone who maybe can’t sleep after this musical barrage, there’s a sensational night programme on offer that includes the Silent Disco, a 24-hours pub and a game area. The campsite is at crawling distance from the festival grounds and has all mod cons, including a supermarket, camping shop, lots of food and drink stalls, and prime shower-blocks.
Saturday sees the theme areas expand to fourteen: Mainstage, Hard Area, L.E.F., Eurogrooves, Concept, Subliminal Sessions, Loveland, Circo Loco, Electronation, Chill, Entrance, Talent, and Silent Disco. The fourteenth is a surprise that will be revealed later on!
The past months, thousands of e-mail enquiries have poured in, and lately this has become a total deluge. Especially from abroad. Now sales are starting, a huge run on tickets can be expected. Toilets, parking and shuttle buses are free. Anyone wanting to be sure of not missing out on this fantastic dance weekend can buy tickets from this moment on. Day tickets for the Saturday cost 62.50 euros and tickets for the complete weekend cost 85 euros.
