Some UK folks on Shroomery are saying it’s looking like a bit of an early crop year; probably due to how shit the summer was and how much rain we got. Still not ideal picking season by a bit but there are scattered reports of them showing their little nippled heads. Keep your eyes peeled! :bounce_fl

I’ve been hunting for these little f*ckers for the last couple of weeks now. We are well into mushroom season up here in Scotland (they start growing a bit earlier the further north ya go) and i am SET on finding some liberty’s this year. There is a well known picking spot near my house that has been used by the local party people for yeeears, but because every one has jus been pullin em out the ground instead of snipping them with scissors each year there has been less and less in this spot and its got the point now where there a literaly NONE growing there any more, its a bugger…

So me n a few mates have been hiking through fields, treading through forests, and marching round playing fields for month or so, i have found every type of mushroom under the bloody sun but don’t know for sure if i have come across liberty caps yet!

Here are a few pictures of very similar looking mushrooms we have found (mainly in fields surrounding the edge of a forest)…

Now to me these all look pretty different, I’ve found loads that look like the picture in the middle. Do you guys think all these mushrooms are liberty caps? What about that middle picture have any of you found liberty caps that look like them?

My mate who has no idea about mushrooms pointed at some on the floor and went oooo look mushrooms, I bent down to look at them and there were 3 of the beautiful things. I missioned all around my local park but couldn’t find anymore

the 2nd lot look the least like libertys, look like harvester mushrooms but they do look pretty similar tbh they wont do you any harm i dont think im sure i musrt have eaten plenty but they wont get you high either, the first and 3rd pictures are the best looking ones, the 3rd lot are younger than the first though

obviously the general description of libertys looks like alot of mushrooms but theres tell tale signs, if u have some u dont know about flick em on 1 side and see if it bruises blue thats a liberty thing, curly stalks also if your stalks are dead stirght and your suspicious already there probably not liberty caps

but tbh i dont even try hunting in august cause even if 1 or 2 have popped up its not worth the effort to damage the crop, i didnt see any till october last year but obviously they start earlier up north due to weather

I’m pretty sure only the first ones are – if the other two types are i have been horribly conned and actually could spend all my life high as a kite without any searching!

i’m pretty certain they arent liberty caps – but cant say ive tried them to find out!

if they are the ones i think they are they grow everywhere!!

i think there called harvester mushrooms, the most common lookalike, i dont think there posienous at all but they wont get u high either, dont quote me on the posinous part though

pretty sure i saw some shrooms in my local park the other day.no idea if they were magical though :/
