non-drug users needed for UCL study Hi,
You may have seen my other threads asking for people who use ketamine to volunteer for my thesis...
I am now looking for people who have never used drugs - as one of the control groups.
I am also looking for people who use drugs but do not use ketamine - as one of the control groups.
If you fit one of these groups and are interested in helping us understand more about the effects of ketamine please read the info below, PM or email (justin.grayer@ucl.ac.uk) me.
Thank you,
Justin
Hi,
I'm doing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL), and my thesis is investigating the effects of ketamine on mental processing and personal experiences. I have been given permission by the administrators of this forum to post messages to see if any one would like to take part in the study. Before I continue, I would like to apologise in advance for any offence that may be caused by using your forum in this way. I also want to emphasise that this study is not being run by drug/pharmaceutical companies.
I am looking for people to participate who fall into either of these two groups:
1. Ketamine users (as well as other drugs) who use ketamine at least twice/month, for at least 1yr
2. Other drug users (EXcluding ketamine use) using drugs at least twice/month, for at least 1yr
3. Non-drug users (past and present)
The study takes about 1.5 - 2 hours, and comprises computer based tasks, as well as some pen and paper questionnaires, a drug history and a urine sample. (Participants will not be given drugs at the time of testing.) Your confidentiality will be assured.
In exchange for your time you will be paid £15.
Ideally, the study will take place at University College London (off Tottenham Court Road). However, if necessary I can meet people elsewhere. Testing can take place at pretty much anytime - week days and evenings, and weekends.
If you are interested and would like to know more please let me know, either on this forum or through a private message.
Thank you for reading.

Council rejects Glade 2007 application on a technicality :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy
Quote:
GLADE festival organisers have run out of time to prepare this year’s event after the application was returned on technical grounds.
Organisers of the Wasing-based dance music festival said they were “disappointed and frustrated” at the decision by West Berkshire Council’s licensing chiefs to strike out the application on a technicality, as reported in last week’s Newbury Weekly News.
Festival team spokesman Luke Piper said: “A new application would mean another two months before a decision is made by the licensing committee.
“This would not leave the organisers sufficient time to prepare the event, especially with the new measures planned for noise control or to confirm acts to play at the event.”
To go ahead under such circumstances would “seriously risk the viability” of Glade, said Mr Piper.
Council licensing officer Brian Leahy said last week: “The regulations weren’t met - and the requirements are absolute.
“It was sent back on a point of law and not because of collusion between the responsible authorities and any outside parties.”
He said organisers were welcome to submit a fresh application.
But Mr Piper said: “The 400-page event management plan was the most comprehensive yet and the event has been put together with some of the top people and consultants in the country in the area of event management, noise and safety.
“It has been five months’ work preparing and planning the application with public meetings and consultation - but it was considered, six weeks after application, that the format of the application did not conform to the new licensing regulations.”
He added: “It does come as a surprise, as the authorities have generally been supportive in the past and we felt that any objections that had been made were being addressed.
“A lot of people had expressed their views and opinions and an agenda was sent out for a hearing at the council chambers. Two of the parish councils had not objected in principal and we have set up local planning committees to liaise more closely with local residents.”
The annual event turns over £1.5 million and generates grants to local village projects and charities worth up to £30,000 but some local residents oppose it due to noise nuisance claims.

CORNWALL FREE PARTIES 2007 Hello folks
Been living away from the motherland for a good few years now and REALLY want to get back into the scene. Living in London and used to travel home when things were big in 2000. London sucks - so would appreciate a heads up on any parties up and coming. Have heard Davidstow Moor has a few, St Keverne, Newquay and around Penwith...any pointers muchly appreciated.
Also any word on afterparties in Stratford around Global Gathering 07. Let us know guys.
Cheers.
