Speeding ticket to blind man A deaf and blind man has said he was shocked after police issued him with a speeding ticket.
Martyn Styles said he was at his son's Kent school when the car he owns was filmed almost 200 miles away in Hull.
When the letter arrived, he could not see it and gave it to his wife, Dawn, to read. "She was stunned and could not believe it," he said.
Humberside Police said they wanted to reassure the pair they had nothing to worry about if it was a mistake.
Mr Styles said he and his wife returned from his nine-year-old son's school at 1300 BST on the day of the offence and CCTV captured his car at 1205 BST on the A1079 Beverley Road in Hull.
The letter from Humberside Police said there was "photographic, videographic or radar evidence" of Mr Styles's car being driven at 36mph in a 30mph zone in his Renault Scenic Privilege.
It said he would be fined £60 and have three points put on his licence.
Mr Styles, 44, said: "I took the letter to Kent Police and an officer looked at me and she couldn't believe it.
"How could I drive that car?"
'Nothing to worry about'
He added: "Kent Police asked me if I have a driving licence and I don't - other people drive my car."
Mrs Styles, 29, said she drove the car for short distances from their home in Paddock Wood but never travelled far.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "We would like to reassure the couple that if a mistake has been made they have nothing to worry about.
"We need them to return the ticket and a covering letter so this matter can be fully investigated."
Mr Styles said he was happy with the police response but still wanted to the CCTV image to be sent to the family. He said he was now also worried that his car registration number had been cloned.

A Tipi Valley Conversion went to the party at tipi valley a few weeks ago and had a wicked time - lots of happy people, relatively few chavs, and a generally good old skool vibe.
took a few friends who underwent something of a conversion...
an american whose closest experience to an outdoor rave was a couple of us dancing around a boombox in the middle of a forest one night - she almost wet herself when she saw all these tipis and heard all that banging music in the wilds of wales! it was quite a revelation and if mike from offas dyke ever reads this (or someone knows him), she's dying to see you again and carry on the conversation!
my sisters boyfriend who is a self-proclaimed guitar head and "hates" dance music was the biggest surpirse of all. i left him at 6am in the big tent, dancing his arse off and loving it. my sister has said that since that night he's only listened to dance music and is reassessing the social scene in bristol!
don't you just love it when that happens?
anyway, it was a great night and if anyone has any pics or stories of the night it'd be great to hear them.....12

Cost of living in London Hello all,
just wondered if any people could give an idea of what I would need to drag in order to live if I were to accept a job in London?
I know some areas are more expensive than others, so assume it is to be in a moderately upmarket area.
Grateful for any feedback.12
security guards emplyed to protect cops :laugh_at:
Security guards protect police HQ
The Surrey police force has been branded as "crazy" for hiring security guards to protect its headquarters.
Four guards are based at its Mount Browne HQ in Guildford where about 900 constabulary employees work, including the Chief Constable, Robert Quick.
Councillor and ex-member of the Surrey Police Authority, Terry Dicks, said it was "absolutely crackers" for security guards to guard policemen at work.
The police authority said it was following official security guidelines.
A spokeswoman said the guards were being employed to "enable officers not to be distracted from their general policing duties" in line with guidance issued by the Association of Chief Police Officers.
"The guards are being employed to ensure the safety of visitors to Mount Browne as well as that of officers and staff," she added.
The police force believes the strategy will free up more officers to serve the public.
But Tory councillor Mr Dicks said it was a sign of the "stupidity" of the Chief Constable and the members of the police authority who supported him.
"Can't they [the police] protect themselves? It's crazy.
"This tells us all we need to know about how Surrey Police is run," he said.

sharks, dodgy pills and mood swings? been lurking on a few other club/rave forums and I see all these reports about people going through massive mood swings whilst "peaking" on pills... to the point where they are saying they actually felt angry/aggressive...
I don't mean the normal comedown where people have a few hours rushing and then the next day may feel tired/paranoid - this is where peoples moods are properly becoming twisted within a few hours of taking the pills (when they would normally be euphoric)
anyone else noticed this amongst themselves or their friends? is it dodgy "MDMA-like" substances to blame or whatever goes into these sharks?

5-MEO-AMT I can buy this substance reliably online, about £85 for a gram.
Anyone had any previous experience with this substance?
BTW, you can get between 100 and 200 hits from a gram and effects are compared to an lsd/mdma trip.
The substance is currently legal.
Langoustines in todays Observer.. The Scots crew might find this interesting....
TBH I didn't even know what a langoustine was until they told me!
In the basement of Glasgow University's zoology building, at the end of a corridor lined with discarded computers, cracked laboratory flasks, old fridges and creaky plumbing pipes, there is a tiny room filled with racks of grey storage boxes. This is an odd, uncomfortable place. The air-conditioning is chilled to near freezing while the boxes are linked together by pipes that are constantly flushed with seawater. It feels more like a showroom for second-hand cisterns than a place of science.Yet the work carried out in this gloomy little cellar has little to do with plumbing and has much to do, instead, with biological regeneration - for each of these boxes is inhabited by a creature that researchers believe could be saviour of our most threatened industry: fishing. These basement denizens are members of the crustacean family Nephrops norvegicus - usually known as the Dublin Bay prawn, or scampi, or the Norwegian lobster or - most often - the langoustine.
