ANY DJS OUT THERE? Me and my friend Plum are organising a night at a pub in Northampton (the Wedgewood)... styles are gonna be Hard Trance/Drum and Bass/Hardhouse/Hardcore... we have a DJ from Machinochrist who has agreed to do a set, we were wondering if anyone else wanted to play some sets to get themselves heard and things?
Would be great because we've never done this before, and want the night to have a good turn out and things!!
I think the PA system, speakers, etc is all sorted as my friend owns all those. We just want some people to come down and play some tuneage!! :D
If it all goes well this night might become a regular occurance!
Night will be called 'Tachikoma'... (after the lil robots of the anime Ghost In The Shell) =]
If anyone could help me promote when everything is sorted then that would be great!!! And anyone is welcome to come along, it will be free! Plus the manager of the pub and everyone are very relaxed and stuff, which always makes for a nice atmosphere! ^_^
Also, if anyone has any ideas to help us out and stuff that would be great! :D
xxx
DMT I was wondering if anyone here had taken DMT and what it was like and stuff?
I cam across some info on it, as hadn't heard of it before that, and it sounds really fun!!
Third eye magickalness, Being able to access other dimensions, dream worlds and fantasy lands... it's something I thought acid would do when I first took that!
So yeah, was just wondering because I read that and thought =O have to try! But I want to know what other people's genuine opinions are on it first.. what happened in their experiences, etc.
How much does it cost for some, also?

Mids and Tops wanted. hi everyone, anyone got any mids or top end speakers sitting around collectin dust? for a sth yorkshire rig trying to find replacements for borrowed kit which is no longer available for us to use.. cheap and cheerful is the idea!
Thanks!
Hessle Party: Police Brutality Just wondered if anyone else was there? I was and it was actually ridiculous!
This was 5th may by the way...
Quote:
Chief Refutes Brutality Claim over Street Party
A CLAIM of police brutality and over reaction in dealing with a disturbance involving 200 people in Leeds has been refuted by a senior officer.
One witness, who asked not to be named, told the Yorkshire Evening Post people were bitten by police dogs and others struck by batons as officers in riot gear dispersed a crowd in Hyde Park, Leeds, early on Saturday. He claimed there was no police request to disperse or warning.
The problem flared when a house party in Hessle Terrace, Hyde Park, Leeds, spilled out on to the streets.
But today Pudsey-Weetwood Divisional Commander, Chief Supt Howard Crowther said that drunken revellers ignored repeated requests to disperse, threw missiles at police and reinforcements were needed to quell the disorder.
He said no-one had been seriously injured, and three arrests were made for public order offences.
One man who arrived part-way through the incident said partygoers were pushed from Hessle Terrace into adjacent Brudenell Road.
He said that though "people were milling around" they were not aggressive.
He said that after police regrouped their ranks had parted to allow dog handlers through and he was bitten in the leg by one dog, a friend was pulled to the ground and bitten on the back of the knee and backside and a third man was bitten on the chest.
"At no point was any warning given to clear the house party or clear the streets. The police behaviour was an absolute disgrace. They charged at the really scared crowd and beat at them with batons,"
claimed the man.
But Chief Supt Crowther said: "We received calls in the early hours of Saturday morning from members of the public concerned about a party in the Hessle Terrace area of Hyde Park that had got out of hand. Initially, two officers were sent to the area and were faced with a group of between 200 and 300 people who were in drink and unwilling to listen to the officers' advice."
The situation deteriorated and it was necessary to deploy further resources to the area in order to disperse the crowd, said Chief Supt Crowther.
"The crowd was asked to disperse a number of times but refused. Missiles were thrown at officers, though no officers were injured."
"Key to any investigation into this will be why a party of this scale was permitted by the residential owners in this area."
He added police had not received any complaints about the way they handled the incident.

Everything was going fine and everyone was being lovely and from what I can remember this all happened because of 1 guy throwing something at the one police car which initially turned up to check out the situation which is usual around Hyde Park and Headingley...
There reaction was, without warning and ridiculous... Police with dogs, riot screens and batons blocked of each end of the street so we were in effect trapped...
I myself only ended up with some bumps to the head after being pushed down the street but i know people who were quite seriously hurt and bitten by dogs...
The police succeeded in one thing...
There arent so many parties around the student areas of Leeds any more...
Let me know if anyone else heard of this or if any one else was there i would like to compare notes!
PL : 150 riot-cops bust squatter nuns convent sit-in! RTÉ news report..
it is a surreal situation (the nuns had squatted the place for two years) and there's a big Father Ted factor here but does have worrying overtones...
In todays Europe you unfortunately expect dreadlocked activists or hoodies to end up being herded about by law enforcement, or even minority religions but normally not nuns in a Catholic country (even if they disagree with their masters!)
OK the nuns weren't roughed up, but surely a smaller number of normal police (who in this country would still be armed with pistols!) could have carried out ths operation? Especially in the wake of the events in Burma/Myanmar...
Nuns seeing visions of the Holy Sprit doesn't seem like a particularly outlandish thing for them to be doing (even if unconventional).
Seems like a big show of force of conventional authority to me against all activists...
Rebel nuns evicted in convent raid
Wednesday, 10 October 2007 18:38
Sixty five nuns have been evicted from a convent in Poland after occupying the building for two years in a revolt against the Vatican.
The members of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Family of Bethany cut themselves off from the outside world two years ago in protest at the Roman Catholic Church's decision to replace their mother superior.
The mother superior was at the centre of allegations over her personal behaviour - the Vatican had rejected her claims of visions of the holy spirit.

More than 150 Polish police, some in combat uniform, entered the convent after forcing the door down this afternoon.
Specialist women's units, psychologists, police negotiators, paramedics and Catholic Church representatives also took part in the operation.
It is understood as the police entered the convent, the nuns sang hymns and hurled insults at security forces, according to Polish police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski.
Police said a former Franciscan monk, Roman Komaryczko, was taken from the convent in handcuffs because of his 'aggressive behaviour'.
One woman was taken away in an ambulance, accompanied by an eight month old baby.

PC vs. Mac ah the old debate, and everyones got their preference!
mainly i gonna get a laptop (partly cos my desktop has died, partly so i can take it into college) and 'cos i'm doin a creative course and macs are supposed to be the standard for digital production sorta stuff, i'm swayin towards 'em
the one thing is that torrent files are mostly windows only, e.g. i need cubase but i can only find it torrent for the pc. fuck payin £400 for it.
so yeah, generally i'd be interested in people's experiences, particularly if they've used both, and the pro's/con's of each etc.12

@ Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, London
Tickets for Moondance’s massive 13th Birthday bash at the world-famous Ministry of Sound have been flying out the door faster than a cheetah on amphetamines! All £5 tickets sold out in 10 minutes! All £8 tickets sold out in 30 minutes! And 100 of the standard price £16 tickets sold within the first 24 hours! Basically…it’s the rave that everyone wants to be a part of!
This is truly one of the heaviest Moondance line-ups to date, with a slew of huge names banging out the finest in old skool classics, jungle, tearin’ upfront DnB, rave breaks, house and electro. The Old Skool Arena brings pioneering DJs of the rave era such as Billy Bunter, Slipmatt and Ellis Dee – people who helped to create the UK sound of hardcore and rave music in the early-to-mid ‘90s. The drum ‘n’ bass line-up is undeniably large – with tough styles represented by Full Cycle stalwarts DJ Die & Krust (in a not-to-be-missed back-to-back session) and Clipz, legends Fabio & Grooverider teaming up for a rare head-to-head set, leaders of the new school like TC, Sub Focus and Metalheadz’s hottest new stars Commix. Smoother DnB beats come courtesy of the awesome Artificial Intelligence, Nookie, Zero Intelligence and Alix Perez…and so much more of two arenas of junglistic madness! To top it all off, Seamus Haji (the guy behind Booty Luv and countless other massive house anthems) headlines Hot & Spicy’s House & Electro room – bringing some sexier flavours to the proceedings.
The Ministry of Sound is looking and sounding better than ever in 2007! This is one of the most highly-regarded, prestigious venues throughout the world that has spawned a global chain of clubs, record labels, magazines, festivals and clothing ranges! The main room at the venue was always designed to provide the ultimate audio experience, and for the last 15 years its sound system has remained among the clearest, loudest and most bone-shaking in the business. But having a reputation for the best system in the world is no reason to sit back and relax. With plenty of competition attempting to take the crown, it was decided that the famous MoS main room needed a complete upgrade to bring in the very latest technology, and keep it firmly ahead of the game. It really needs to be heard to be believed…the most awesome sound system in the country!
