WLAN techie question again I want to connect a big printer/photocopier to the network, but the managers here do not want to use cables for safety and appearance (and it would involve hacking up the door frame to get them through)
I know I need a box to connect the CAT5 patch cable from the printer to the wireless network (in place of just using a cable), but what is this called?
is it just an access point or called something else altogether?

the good old days!!!! i was reading a newspaper article on the manchester rave busted by the police a few days ago and thought this takes me back! i thought this was just a isolated one off event but after searching i cant believe that the rave community is still alive and kicking! i first went to one with our kid in 1993 (yep im one of the "old skool" ) manchester ravers may remember it when all across the outer-rim especially ancoats mills and areas of salford every weekend there was multiple sound systems pumping out for days straight. unfortunately areas like ancoats are now developed into flats/apartments and the police seem to be a little more agressive nowadays that they did back then saying that it was a constant war between police and the rave community every weekend. this got worse in the mid 90s along with gang warfare creeping in as well too many nasty things started happening this is why i stopped going in 1996. coming back to present day its great to see that the rave community is just one big party that never ends. :bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl
A piggy passenger.. An old Suffolk pig farmer has become quite successful over the years, and makes enough money to buy a new two seater sports car...
One day he plans to take a prize sow to market; but his farmhand finds he can't start the old motor van... He asks "well what do I do now?"
The pig farmer replies "Don't worry... put some old sheets on the passenger seat of my car, and I'll take her to market myself"
The farmhand is shocked by this and says....
"Surely you're not thinking of putting that muddy pig in your brand new car?"
The farmer replies...
"Why not? She helped pay for it, I don't see why she can't have a lift in it.."

possibly the best source for 'between-the-lines' news. It was like a breath of fresh air when i first joined. i could go into reasons why i think its so great but the reasons will become obvious when you've read a few of the 'media-alerts' or blogs. take my advice and sign up to the email service, it truly is an insight.
i could go on and on about this site but any of you interested enough will delve deep enough to learn anyway. buy the book also!
