2006-11-24 The Synergy Project-Last gathering of the year-Fractal Glider & Hydragliph
The Synergy Project
Friday 24th November
“Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.”
“Dalai Lama”

Synergy is a magical indoor festival, combining musicians, Djs, Vjs, performers, and artists from all corners of creativity, joined by various proactive NGO’s and charities.
It is our sincere belief to harness the power of positive celebration with a clear intention to discuss the many issues affecting our global community. Gently raising awareness of some of the most pressing issues around the world, supporting the work of our collaborating NGOs & Charities, and exposing them alongside other individual campaigns that deserve more attention to the vibrant, cross-generational and multi-cultural scene which makes up the Synergy Crowd.

50 rules for men! Was thinking about posting this one in the joke forum...
But...Sorry girls :groucho: :groucho:
50 RULES FOR MEN:
1. Call.
2. Don't lie.
3. Never tape any of her body parts together.
4. If guys' night out is going to be fun, invite the girls.
5. If guys' night out is going to involve strippers, remember the zoo rules- No Petting.
6. The correct answer to "Do I look fat?" is never, ever "Yes."
7. Ditto for "Is she prettier than me?"
8. Victoria's Secret is good. Frederick's of Hollywood is bad.
9. Ordering for her is good. Telling her what she wants is bad.
10. Being attentive is good. Stalking is bad.
11. "Honey," "Darling," and "Sweetheart" are good. "Nag," "Lardass," and "Bitch" are bad.
12. Talking is good. Shouting is bad. Slapping is a felony.
13. A grunt is not an acceptable answer to any question.
14. None of your ex-girlfriends were ever nicer, prettier, or better in bed.
15. Her cooking is excellent.
16. That isn't an excuse for you to avoid cooking.
17. Dishsoap is your friend.
18. Hat does not equal shower, aftershave does not equal soap, and warm does not equal clean.
19. Buying her dinner does not equal foreplay.
20. Answering "Who was that on the phone?" with "Nobody" is never going to end that conversation.
21. Ditto for "Whose lipstick is this?"
22. Two words: clean socks.
23. Believe it or not, you are not more attractive when you're drunk.
24. Burping is not sexy.
25. You're wrong.
26. You're sorry.
27. She is probably less impressed by your discourse on your cool car than you think she is.
28. Ditto for your discourse on wrestling.
29. Ditto for your ability to jump up and hit any awning in a single bound.
30. "Will you marry me?" is good. "Let's shack up together" is bad.
31. Don't assume PMS is the cause for every bad mood.
32. Don't assume PMS doesn't exist.
33. No means No. Yes means Yes. Silence could mean anything she feels like at that particular moment in time, and it could change without notice.
34. "But, we kiss..." is not justification for using her toothbrush. You don't clean plaque with your tongue.
35. Never let her walk anywhere alone after 11pm.
36. Chivalry and feminism are NOT mutually exclusive.
37. Pick her up at the airport. Don't whine about it, just do it.
38. If you want to break up with her, break up with her. Don't act like a complete jerk until she does it for you.
39. Don't tell her you love her if you don't.
40. Tell her you love her if you do. Often.
41. Always, always suck up to her brother.
42. Think boxers.
43. Silk boxers.
44. Remember Valentine's Day, and any cheesy "anniversary" she so-names.
45. Don't try to change the way she dresses.
46. Her haircut is never bad.
47. Don't let your friends pick on her.
48. Call... and call again.
49. Don't lie.
50. The rules are never fair. Accept this without question. The fact that she has to go through labor while you are sitting on your ass smoking cigars isn't fair either, and it balances everything else out.
Money can buy you love Can this really be true,is money that important in a relationship..
I would rather be poor with a man I love, than rich with someone I don't..
How about you ??
Money can buy you love - especially if you are a Romeo with savings, new research suggests.
Today's modern woman favours a prudent partner over a flashy spendthrift, a survey from Yorkshire Building Society found.
Almost two-thirds of female respondents said they would prefer to date a man with no debt.
And just under half said having savings was a desirable quality in a man.
Woman are also keen on men with a good sense for a bargain, according to the report.
A third said they were impressed by men who resist spending on impulse and hunt for a good deal.
Only 4% said they would want to date a man who is always spending and has the latest of everything. And when it came to looking for a long-term partner, the figure dropped to 2%.
In contrast, receiving inexpensive but thoughtful gifts was rated higher than being indulged with lavish presents.
Almost 60% of women responding to the survey said they wanted to date or have a long-term relationship with a man who gave thoughtful but low cost gifts, compared to just 3% who wanted pricey but less personal gestures.
Tanya Jackson, spokeswoman for Yorkshire Building Society, said: "It seems money really can buy you love as today's singles search for a saving-smart superhero to settle down with.
"We are more likely to be swept off our feet with a thoughtful gift than a flashy gesture.
"Modern romance appears to be more practical, with a savings habit seen as an indication of your success in life, making those who watch the pennies the ones more likely to find long-lasting love."

Drug dealer Roger Beck is starting a five-year prison sentence.
BEN KENDALL
25 November 2006 08:45
A 60-year-old man caught with up to £49,000 worth of illegal substances was yesterday jailed for five years after a court heard he was driven to drug dealing by spiralling debts.
Speaking after Roger Beck, of St Martins Lane, Norwich, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court, the police officer who led the investigation said he had used his respectable appearance to hide his activities.
Beck had earlier pleaded guilty to four charges involving possessing cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and amphetamine with intent to supply, following a raid on his £500,000 home on June 16.
The court heard more than 20 bars of cannabis resin, large quantities of cocaine, 3,438 ecstasy tablets and a smaller amount of amphetamine were found. It is estimated the total haul had a street value between £38,000 and £49,000. Drugs paraphernalia
and a telephone containing incriminating text messages were also found.
Prosecutor Greg Perrins said: "Beck found himself in considerable debt and was introduced to drugs and the supply thereof as a result. He supplied to a limited circle of professionals who were already familiar with drugs."
He added that Beck had previous convictions for handling stolen goods and common assault.
Matthew McNiff, defending, said Beck's efforts had been
"inept" and "unsophisticated", demonstrating that his actions had been motivated by desperation.
"Having found himself in financial dire straits, his motivation was to protect the home of his children and provide for those children," Mr McNiff added.
Sentencing Beck, Judge Alasdair Darroch said: "This is a serious case. We frequently hear of people involved in such activity for far more acute problems than your own. Your actions were motivated by financial hardship; there are others who are forced into it to provide for a terminally ill child, for example."
Outside court, Det Con Robin Windsor-Waite, of Norwich CID, said: "It was clear from the outset that Beck was involved in large scale drug supply and had been using his outwardly respectable appearance as a cover.
"The profits were used to fund his lifestyle, which included a substantial property in the heart of the city and two children in private education.
"Beck appeared to have a remarkably casual approach to his drug dealing activity. When police arrived to execute the warrant the electric gates at the end of the drive were open. Tins and packets of drugs littered the kitchen worktops along with digital scales and materials for packaging the drugs into individual wraps."
